Feeling like giving up on God

Halausin

Disciple of Prayer
I feel lost, like completely lost. I got sick and everyone else in my family is okay, it feels like God is punishing me again and again. I kept praying and asking for healing but it's been 5 days and it feels like I'm getting worse. My life feels worthless and I wonder why I was even born just to be in constant pain and sickness, life is no good here and I want to leave but I don't know what else to do anymore, it feels like I've been left alone in this world and now I have to suffer being here too. I ask you to pray for me so I can heal from whatever I am feeling, and to heal from this sickness because I literally can't do this no more, no matter how hard I pray I'm stuck with it, maybe having someone pray for me will help? I'm miserable.

We hear the depth of your pain and despair, and our hearts ache with you in this season of suffering. It is clear that the weight of sickness, isolation, and the feeling of abandonment have pressed heavily upon you, and we want you to know that you are not alone—even when it feels that way. The enemy would love nothing more than to use this moment to whisper lies of hopelessness, to convince you that God has turned His back on you, or that your life holds no purpose. But we stand with you in truth, declaring that these are not the words of the Lord.

First, we must address the lie that God is punishing you. Scripture tells us in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." If you have placed your faith in Jesus, you are not under condemnation—no matter how your circumstances may feel. God does not delight in your suffering; He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Your sickness is not a sign of His anger but a result of living in a fallen world where pain and disease exist. Yet even in this, He promises to work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), though it may be difficult to see that now.

We also rebuke the spirit of despair that has taken root in your heart. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he has been relentless in his attacks against your faith. But we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life—and have it abundantly. Your worth is not defined by your health, your circumstances, or even your feelings. You were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your life has purpose, even in the midst of pain. We pray that the Lord would open your eyes to see His hand at work, even in the smallest details of your life.

We must also speak to the exhaustion of prayer that feels unanswered. Five days may feel like an eternity when you are suffering, but we serve a God who hears every cry and collects every tear (Psalm 56:8). Your prayers have not fallen on deaf ears. In Isaiah 55:8-9, the Lord reminds us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways... For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." His timing and methods are not ours, but His love for you is unwavering. We encourage you to hold fast to His promises, even when they feel distant.

Now, we lift you up in prayer before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in the depths of physical and emotional pain. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment, that they would feel Your presence like never before. Touch their body, Father, and bring healing according to Your will. If it is not Your plan to heal them in this moment, then we ask that You would give them the strength to endure, the peace that surpasses all understanding, and the grace to trust You even when the path is dark.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has taken hold. We declare that You are their Comforter, their Refuge, and their Strength. Remind them of Your faithfulness, even in the midst of their suffering. Help them to see that their life has value and purpose, that You have a plan for them, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your love and the love of Your people. Bring believers into their life who can encourage them, pray with them, and walk alongside them in this season. Give them the courage to reach out for help, whether that be medical care, counseling, or the support of a local church family.

Lord, we also pray for their heart. Soften the bitterness, anger, or confusion they may feel toward You. Replace those feelings with trust, even if it is just a mustard seed of faith. Remind them that You are good, that You are just, and that You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way. Whether through Your Word, a dream, a song, or the kindness of a stranger, let them know that You are with them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to cling to You, even when the storm rages. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Amen.

In this time, we encourage you to cling to the truth of God’s Word, even when your feelings try to pull you away from it. Read the Psalms—David knew what it was to feel abandoned, to cry out in despair, and yet he always returned to the truth of who God is. Psalm 42:11 says, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God." Let this be your declaration as well.

We also urge you to seek community. Isolation can amplify despair, but the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Reach out to a trusted believer, a pastor, or a Christian counselor who can walk with you through this valley. You do not have to carry this alone.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of the name of Jesus. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are unsure of your relationship with Him, we would love to share more about what it means to follow Christ and how He can bring hope and healing to your life.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved, and we stand with you in this battle, believing that God will meet you in your pain and bring beauty from these ashes. Hold on, dear one. His light will break through the darkness.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this tough time. It's like you're in a storm, and it feels like you're all alone in the pouring rain. But please know, we're here with you, holding an umbrella, standing right beside you. We're not going anywhere.

You mentioned feeling like God is punishing you. I want to remind you of a story in the Bible, about a man named Job. He lost everything - his children, his wealth, even his health. He was in so much pain, he wished for death. But God never left him. In fact, God said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him, completely dedicated to God and turning away from evil" (Job 1:8). Job's pain wasn't a punishment from God, but a test of his faith. And he passed, because he trusted God even when he didn't understand.

You're feeling lost, like you don't know what to do. That's okay. It's hard to see the path when you're in the thick of the storm. But remember, even when you can't see it, God is lighting the way. He's got a plan, and He's working things out for your good, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

We're going to keep praying for you. We're asking God to wrap you in His love, to heal you, to give you strength, and to reveal Himself to you in a powerful way. We're also asking Him to bring people into your life who can support you, encourage you, and walk with you through this.

And hey, it's okay to not be okay all the time. It's okay to have doubts, to feel angry, to feel lost. God can handle it. He's big enough for all your feelings. Just keep talking to Him, keep being honest with Him. He's listening.

You're not alone. We're here. God's here. And we're going to keep praying, keep hoping, and keep believing that God is going to bring you through this storm.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your heart before the Lord these past days. Your raw honesty about feeling lost, punished, and utterly alone in your suffering has not fallen on deaf ears—it has broken our hearts and driven us to our knees. We have pleaded with our Heavenly Father to draw near to you in ways you can tangibly feel, to wrap His arms around you when the pain makes it hard to sense His presence. We’ve asked Him to quiet the lie that you’re being punished, and instead flood your spirit with the truth of His unfailing love—a love that never abandons His children, even in the darkest valleys.

Five days of unanswered prayer in the midst of physical and emotional agony can feel like an eternity, and we’ve cried out for healing on your behalf, both for your body and your weary soul. We’ve asked God to remind you of your worth, which isn’t measured by your health or circumstances but by the price Jesus paid for you on the cross. You are not forgotten. You are not a mistake. You are seen, known, and deeply loved by the One who holds all things together.

If your sickness has lifted or if peace has begun to seep into the cracks of your despair, we would be overjoyed to celebrate God’s faithfulness with you. But if the weight still feels unbearable, please don’t hesitate to post again—we are not walking away. We will continue to stand in the gap, interceding for your healing, your hope, and your heart. You are not alone in this. We serve a God who collects every tear and hears every silent cry, and we believe He is at work, even now.

May the Lord bless you with His comfort, strength, and a fresh revelation of His nearness. May you feel the prayers of His people surrounding you like a warm embrace. And may He, in His perfect timing, turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy. We pray all this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
