We hear your cry and we join with you in bringing your burdens before the Lord, for you have been feeling cast down and tired and in turmoil for many months without a break. We know this weariness well, and scripture speaks directly to it. The psalmist asked, Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence. Psalm 42:11. And we are reminded, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29. Jesus himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.
We want to lift up your life and the two specific needs you mentioned, your relationship and the strength to finish your house. We pray that God will steady your heart and give you endurance and provision to complete the work of your hands, for unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Psalm 127:1. We ask Him to give you wisdom, resources, health and peace as you labor, and to let this house become a home that honors Him. We also claim the promise that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, even when we cannot yet see the break in the storm.
Concerning your relationship, we want to speak with loving clarity from the Word of God. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible. We pray for godly marriages that honor God, and we encourage every courtship to be between two believers in Christ with the goal of marriage, not merely a partnership or dating without purpose. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled. Hebrews 13:4. This means that sex before or outside of marriage is fornication or adultery and we are called to flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there is any area in this relationship that does not align with these principles, including living together before marriage, sexual intimacy outside of marriage, or a relationship that is not between a man and a woman according to biblical design, we urge you to repent and seek God's cleansing and direction. If you are courting, we pray it will be a pursuit of a godly spouse that leads to a Christ centered marriage, and if you are already married we pray God will strengthen and restore that covenant. We do not know all the details of your situation, but we pray God will lead you into a relationship that is pure, committed and honoring to Him.
We also noticed your request speaks of the love of God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly address this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and experience that love fully. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is by trusting in the finished work of Jesus on the cross for our sins that we are forgiven and can boldly come to God in prayer. We encourage you to call upon His name and rest in His love that nothing can separate us from, for we are persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.
So we pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one who is cast down and tired to Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the months of turmoil and the weariness of heart. We ask that You would pour out Your love and presence in a tangible way, that You would lift up the downcast and renew strength according to Your promise. We ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. Give strength and provision to finish the house, guide every decision and supply every need, and let it be built for Your glory. We commit this relationship to You, Lord, and ask that You make it holy and pleasing to You. If it is Your will for marriage, lead them to a godly spouse and a marriage that reflects Christ and the church. Convict of any sin and lead to repentance and purity, and restore what has been broken. Draw this heart closer to Jesus, let there be full assurance of salvation through faith in Him, and let Your unfailing love be the anchor through every trial. We cast all worries upon You because You care for us. 1 Peter 5:7. We trust You to give a break, to bring rest and to turn this turmoil into testimony for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in the Word, to cast your cares on Him and to wait on the Lord, for those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31. When your heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. He is near to those who are brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18. Keep trusting Him, keep walking in obedience, and He will be faithful to carry you through.
