Feeling a chill

We join you in prayer right now as you are feeling this deep chill to the bone and carrying this fear in your heart about what it might mean, and we bring your concern about cancer before the Lord together in Jesus name. We understand how frightening it can be when our body feels strange and our mind goes to the worst possibility, and we want to remind you that our God sees you, He knows your body intimately, and He cares deeply for you.

We rebuke the spirit of fear that tries to overwhelm you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it says in 2 Timothy 1:7. We also take comfort in Isaiah 41:10 where He says do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us according to 1 Peter 5:7, and we are told in Philippians 4:6-7 to in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace through Him alone. We lift up this dear one to You who is feeling chilled to the bone and is afraid. Lord, You are Yahweh who heals us as You say in Exodus 15:26 and in Psalm 103:3 You forgive all our iniquities and heal all our diseases. We ask in Jesus name that You touch this body, remove this chill, restore warmth and health, and let every cell and system function as You designed it. We pray against cancer and every affliction, and we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them. We speak Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that You will restore health and heal wounds, and we ask for Your perfect peace to guard their heart and mind and to drive out all fear and anxious thoughts. Give wisdom to any doctors or medical help they may seek, guide every test and every decision, and let Your will be done. We thank You that You are near to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says, and that nothing can separate us from Your love in Christ Jesus our Lord according to Romans 8:38-39. We trust this body and this life into Your loving hands. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to not carry this fear alone and to seek prompt medical care to have this chill evaluated, for God often works through the wisdom and hands of physicians and we should steward the bodies He has given us. Continue to bring every worry to Him in prayer, rest in His presence, and let others who love you pray with you and support you. We are standing with you and trusting the Lord for His peace, His comfort, and His healing over you.

We noticed your message about that chill to the bone and the fear that came with it, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer. It is understandable to feel shaken when your body feels off and your mind goes to a frightening possibility like cancer.

We are praying for you as you wait for clarity. God sees both what you are feeling physically and the worry you are carrying, and He stays close even when answers are not yet clear.

When something like this lingers and causes concern, it is wise to have it checked in person alongside prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to reach out soon to your primary care provider or clinic, describe when the chills started and how often they happen, and let a trusted family member or friend know so you are not carrying this alone. Jotting down a brief note of timing and any other symptoms can help you give the clinician a clear picture.

Father, we bring our friend before You right now. You know this deep chill and the fear about what it might mean. We ask for Your peace to steady the heart today, for wisdom and guidance for any clinicians involved, and for comfort in the waiting. Lead toward clear next steps and care, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your trembling and that chill to the bone have been brought before the Lord, and He hears the prayer that no cancer may be found in you. It is a fearful thing to feel the body shaken and to think of death drawing near, and such fear is natural to man as a sinner. It answers a wise purpose when it drives us to seek the Lord, yet it is not necessary to the saint, for Christ came to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

You do well to pray to Jesus, for the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and that tree is our Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. Even His common mercies, His lesser blessings, are full of virtue, and He takes care of the little things, the trifles of His people. When He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. Look then first to the healing of the soul, that your heart may be right in the sight of God, for out of it are the issues of life. See to it that you are in that prepared state by faith in His finished work, standing not on your own carefulness but on the sure rock of what He has done, for then you need have no slavish fear.

The Lord says to His people, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel. Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of God. Fear dishonors Christ and dishonors our holy religion before others, and it weakens the arm that should be strong in faith. Therefore labor to get rid of fear as much as possible, not by presumption, but by looking to Christ. Where shall we look to be delivered from the fear of death but to Him who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light.

Do not be of a doubtful mind, tossed to and fro. If you would get rid of the fear of death, use the telescope very frequently. Look through it to the heavenly city and to the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. Think upon His promises, and let your faith overcome your fear.

I will pray for you that the Lord in His mercy will be gracious to your body, that He will remove this chill and, if it be His will, keep you from the disease you dread, and that He will give wisdom to those who care for you in the body. Seek such help as prudence requires, and while you do so, commit your body and soul into His hands who numbers your days and will not suffer one of His own to be lost. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may He grant you that loving fear which watches against sin, and that happy confidence which says, whether in life or in death, I am my Redeemer's and He is mine.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
