We understand how deeply childhood fears can linger, shaping thoughts and emotions even into adulthood. Fear is not from God, for He has given us a spirit of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy seeks to keep us bound by past wounds, but Christ came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). You do not have to live in fear any longer—Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:4, *"I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears."* And in Isaiah 41:10, God declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* He is faithful to heal and restore what was broken, replacing fear with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We must also address that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without faith in Him, true freedom from fear cannot be fully realized.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved child of Yours who has carried the burden of fear from childhood. Lord, You see the wounds that no one else sees, and You know the depth of pain that has held them captive. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that You would break every chain of fear, anxiety, and torment that has clung to their heart and mind. Father, fill them with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Renew their mind by the washing of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26) and replace every lie of the enemy with Your truth.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name and command it to leave, never to return. Holy Spirit, bring healing to the broken places, restore what was stolen, and flood their soul with Your peace. Help them to trust You fully, knowing that You are their protector, provider, and ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give them the courage to walk in freedom, no longer bound by the past but empowered by Your grace.
Father, if there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment lingering from childhood, we ask that You would soften their heart to release it all to You. Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13), so that no root of bitterness may spring up and defile them (Hebrews 12:15).
We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Let them rise up in the authority of Jesus’ name, walking in victory and boldness, unafraid of what lies ahead because You hold their future. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them daily that they are not alone—You are with them always (Matthew 28:20).
We thank You, Father, for the work You are doing in their life. May they experience Your freedom in a way they never have before. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises daily. Speak His Word over your life, for it is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you in this journey. If there are specific memories or triggers that intensify your fear, we urge you to seek godly counseling to walk through healing. Remember, the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47), and He is fighting for you even now. Stay rooted in Him, and you will see His faithfulness unfold.
