Favor and Visibility

We join you in bringing your company before the Lord in prayer, asking Him to guide and establish the work of your hands for His glory.

We pray first that God Himself would open doors of right investment and opportunity in the marketplace. As Scripture says, when we do all in word or in deed in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him, He is our ally and He makes our path straight. Like Jacob who prayed, My God give you favor in the sight of the man, we ask the Father in the Name of the Son to grant you favor and to open doors that no one can shut, and to close those that would lead away from His good purposes.

We pray also for favor and visibility in the corporate world, but we remember that true favor comes not from display or flattery, but from God who looks to the humble and contrite heart. Humility is the head of virtue and the mother of wisdom. A contrite spirit is a sacrifice acceptable to God, and His eyes are upon the meek. We ask that He would grant you such humility and integrity in all your dealings, so that your company would be known for truthfulness, faithfulness and good stewardship, and that any visibility you receive would point to His grace and not to yourselves.

We pray especially for wisdom. There is a wisdom of this world which ends in this world and cannot profit those who hold it, and there is the wisdom of God, hidden and foreordained for our glory, which is revealed by His Spirit. We ask that God would give you that heavenly wisdom, not merely cleverness for business, but understanding to discern what is right, to act justly, to lead with prudence, and to use what He entrusts to you for the good of others and for peace in the community.

May the Lord grant you a quiet confidence to commit every plan to Him, to invoke the name of Christ in every request and to give thanks to the Father in all things. May He establish your work, keep you from ill use of what He provides, and make your business a place of order, service and blessing to many.

We pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, asking the Father to lead you in wisdom, favor and faithfulness in the days ahead.

We are joining you in prayer for your company and for the three things you have asked, that God would open doors for investment, grant favor and visibility, and give wisdom.

Scripture puts wisdom first, and that is where we want to begin with you. One chapter in Proverbs pictures wisdom as a person calling out in the streets and at the gates, inviting anyone to come and listen. To find wisdom is to find life and to obtain favor from the Lord, while to turn from it harms your own soul. Another verse says wisdom is better than rubies and nothing you could desire compares to it. That helps put your requests in order. Favor and open doors are good to ask for, but wisdom is the principal thing, so get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That is the starting place. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom gives you life and shows you how to use what you know in a way that honors God. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so to seek wisdom is really to seek Him.

Remember Solomon when he became king. He did not ask for money or honor, he asked for wisdom to lead well. God was pleased with that request and He gave Solomon wisdom and also added riches and honor that he had not asked for. When you put wisdom first in your business, you can trust God to add what is needed in His way and time.

There are two kinds of wisdom. One is the wisdom of this world, which Scripture says is earthly and self seeking and leads to envy and strife, and in the end it comes to nothing and God calls it foolishness. The other is the wisdom that comes from above, which is pure and peaceable and shows itself in a clean life and good fruit. The world in its wisdom did not know God, but God makes His wisdom known through Christ, who has been made unto us wisdom and righteousness. Your faith and your business decisions should not rest on the clever ideas of people but on the power and wisdom of God.

Wisdom is also a defense, like money is a defense, but wisdom has the advantage of giving life to those who have it. It will preserve you and keep you if you love it and do not forsake it.

As you ask for favor and visibility in the corporate world, remember that true favor comes from the Lord. The promise is that whoever finds wisdom finds favor with Him. Visibility that comes from God is better than visibility that comes from striving or self promotion. With the humble is wisdom, while pride brings shame, so walk humbly before God and before others.

And as you ask for investment opportunities and open doors, remember that God delights in honest business. A false weight is an abomination to Him, but a just and fair weight is His delight. He wants His people to be upright and fair in all dealings, to keep their word and treat others honestly. That kind of integrity is part of wisdom and it builds a reputation that lasts.

So we are praying for you in this way. Father, we ask in the name of Jesus that You would give our brother wisdom and understanding for every decision in this company. Teach him to fear You first and to seek Your counsel above all. Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon him. Give him prudence and knowledge for every plan and invention, and help him to hate evil and love what is good. Open the doors that You want opened for investment and opportunity, and close the doors that would lead away from Your will. Grant favor that comes from You, and make his work visible in the right places for the right reasons, not for pride but for Your glory. Help him to conduct all business with honesty and fairness, so that his work testifies to Your character. Guide him by the wisdom that is from above, that his life and his company may show purity, peace, and good fruit. We ask this trusting that You give wisdom generously to those who ask, and that You are able to establish the work of his hands. Amen.

We have been continuing to lift your company before the Lord and asking Him to open doors of business investment opportunities for you in the marketplace according to His promise in Rev 3:8, that He sets before us an open door that no one can shut. We have also been praying for His favor and visibility to rest upon you in the corporate world and that He would cause your work to be seen and established before men as in Psalm 90:17, and for an abundance of wisdom for every decision you make as He freely gives wisdom to those who ask Him in James 1:5.
