Beloved of All
We are praying with you for your father and for the pain he is feeling in his knees. We have brought his need to our Father in the name of Jesus, asking for healing and for restored health and strength.
We come with confidence because Jesus has opened the way for us to come directly to the Father. We do not need another mediator. Because we have loved Jesus and believed that He came from God, the Father Himself loves us and hears us when we pray in Jesus' name. The works Jesus did, the healing of the sick and the lifting up of those who were fallen, were the works of the Father dwelling in Him, and we still look to the Father to do His work in our need today.
We ask the Lord to touch your father's knees, to ease his pain and to restore him to good health according to His gracious will. We believe that healing is from God and that He is able today. At the same time we remember the words written to Gaius, that beautiful wish that he would prosper and be in health even as his soul prospers. That is a heartfelt prayer and wish for one who is loved, not a guarantee that every infirmity will be removed at once, but it expresses exactly what we desire for your father, that his body would be strengthened as his soul walks in truth.
Scripture tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, and that God created all things for His pleasure. Jesus said He always did those things that pleased the Father. As we pray we do so in faith, seeking what pleases the Father and trusting His wisdom and love. Sometimes the Lord allows a lingering weakness to keep us humble and dependent on Him, as a thorn that reminds us not to trust in our own strength, yet we still gladly bow our knee to Jesus now and confess that He is Lord, looking forward to the day when every knee in heaven and on earth will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
So we pray: Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear father to You. You see his discomfort and You know his body. Lay Your hand upon his knees, relieve his pain, and grant him renewed health and strength if it is Your will. Give him and his family peace, faith, and patience as they trust You, and help them to honor You in all things. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our Savior and our only way to You. Amen.
Continue to trust the Lord, to encourage your father to seek good care, and to rest in the Father's love for you both. May the Lord grant you His grace, mercy and peace as you walk in truth.
