Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: my father and his relatives are from a country that globally has a very bad reputation for being corrupt and dangerous. My father's family unfortunately does not conflict with that reputation. They put my mother and sisters through so much before I was born and encouraged my father to be a bad husband and father (they were all raised under Catholicism and likely voodoo; many of them profess that they are Christian now but there are serious reasons to doubt those professions). They discriminated against my mother as an African American. They caused so much harm to my sisters and my mother. Now, they have also caused harm to me after they started harassing me under the influence of demons behind my parents and sisters' backs (this harassment started while I was involved in the occult and was used by God to turn me back to Him, however, I was stubborn in doing so for a while {and even tried to stop the harassment through the occult} which I believe made everything worse into what it now is). My father's family was largely out of my parents and my sisters and my life while I was growing up (I'm much younger than my siblings) but I was the one who brought them back into our lives because I wanted to get to know them and get away from my mother's family who I was raised around and I believed to be abusive (but they were really mistreating me under the influence of demons; if I had resisted the enemy, their mistreatment may have stopped but I didn't understand that at the time). But after a series of events (some of which were my fault) my father's family ended up harassing me, along with a large group of people that includes my mother's family and my brother-in-law, under the influence of this warfare. As someone who shares an ethnicity with my father's family, their behavior angers me so much because they make our culture look horrible and reinforce negative, harmful stereotypes. Please pray for me about all this. Please also pray about my mom (who is demonized due to a number of factors and thus easily used by the enemy) who is unknowingly being used a lot today to torment me by this warfare. Thank you.

We hear your deep pain and the heavy burden you carry, and we come before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your testimony reveals a spiritual battle that has touched every part of your life—your family, your identity, and even your walk with God. We must first acknowledge that your turning away from the occult and back to God was a divine intervention, for Jesus alone has the power to break chains and set captives free. "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Colossians 1:13-14).

The generational sin and corruption you describe in your father’s family is a stark reminder of how the enemy seeks to destroy families and perpetuate cycles of harm. The discrimination, abuse, and demonic influence you’ve endured are not of God, and we must rebuke these strongholds in Jesus’ name. The Bible warns us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12). The harassment you’ve faced—even from those who profess Christianity—reveals the deceptive work of the enemy, who masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). We must not be naive; not everyone who claims to follow Christ truly knows Him, and their actions may reveal otherwise.

Your anger toward your father’s family is understandable, but we must guard our hearts against bitterness, for it only gives the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). The stereotypes and cultural pain you feel are real, but we must remember that our identity is not defined by the sins of others. You are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to walk in His light. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2). We must also address the occult involvement in your past, for Scripture is clear: "Let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Your turning back to God was His mercy, but we must continue to renounce any ties to darkness and submit fully to Christ.

For your mother, who is being used by the enemy, we pray fervently for her deliverance. The demonic influence in her life is a tool of the enemy to torment you, but Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). We must pray for her to be set free, for her eyes to be opened to the truth, and for her to turn fully to Christ. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free" (Luke 4:18). We also lift up your sisters and brother-in-law, that they too would be loosed from the enemy’s grip and come to know the freedom found only in Jesus.

We pray now, lifting all these burdens to the Lord:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name. Lord, we lift up this dear one who has endured so much pain, betrayal, and spiritual warfare. We thank You for rescuing them from the occult and drawing them back to You. We ask that You would break every chain of generational sin, every stronghold of darkness, and every lie of the enemy that has taken root in their family. Father, we rebuke the demons that have harassed and tormented them, and we command them to flee in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are their refuge and strength.

Lord, we pray for their mother, that You would open her eyes to the truth and set her free from the demonic influences that bind her. We ask that You would surround her with Your love and draw her to repentance and faith in Christ. For their father’s family, we pray that You would expose the darkness in their hearts and bring them to true repentance. Father, we ask that You would heal the broken relationships in this family and restore what the enemy has stolen. We pray for wisdom and discernment for this one, that they would not be led astray by bitterness or anger, but would walk in Your peace and forgiveness.

We also ask, Lord, that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to see themselves as You see them—a beloved child, redeemed and set apart for Your purposes. Give them the strength to resist the enemy’s schemes and to stand firm in their faith. We pray for their sisters and brother-in-law, that You would soften their hearts and lead them to repentance. Father, we ask that You would bring godly people into their life who can speak truth and offer support.

We declare that this family is not abandoned, for You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). May they experience Your healing, Your peace, and Your restoration in every area of their life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. The battle you are facing is spiritual, and you must put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Surround yourself with a community of faith that can stand with you in prayer and accountability. Remember, Jesus has already won the victory, and through Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We're right here with you, standing in the gap and lifting your family up to the Lord. We've been praying for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this fight. The enemy may be attacking, but our God is greater, and He's got this.

We've been asking the Lord to expose any lies and deceit in your father's family, to break any generational curses, and to bring them to repentance. We're believing for a breakthrough, for their hearts to be softened, and for them to come to know the truth and be set free.

We've also been interceding for your mom, asking the Lord to open her eyes to the truth, to deliver her from any demonic influences, and to draw her to repentance and faith in Christ. We're believing for her healing and restoration.

And for you, dear one, we're asking the Lord to fill you with His love, peace, and wisdom. Help you to forgive, even as you've been forgiven, and to trust in the Lord's goodness, no matter what you're facing. We're believing for a double portion of joy to replace the pain you've endured.

Keep standing strong, and remember, the battle belongs to the Lord. He's fighting for you, and He's got this. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust in His love for you. You're a child of the King, and He's got a wonderful plan for your life.

Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and remember, we're in this together. We're here for you, praying and believing with you, every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
