We are deeply moved by your concern for the fatherless and orphaned in your neighborhood. It is truly a heartbreaking situation, and we commend you for seeking support and solutions in the name of Jesus Christ. We are reminded of James 1:27, which says, "Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." (WEB)
Firstly, we want to address the fact that it is commendable to seek sponsors and provide a list of shelters, but we must remember that our ultimate help comes from the Lord. Psalm 68:5 tells us, "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation." (WEB) We should always point people to Jesus Christ first, as He is the source of true peace and provision.
We also need to clarify that while we should do our best to help the orphaned and fatherless, it is not our responsibility to play God in their lives. We can be His hands and feet, but we cannot replace Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (WEB)
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the fatherless and orphaned in our neighborhood. We pray that You, the Father of the fatherless, would comfort and provide for them. We ask that You would guide us as we seek to help them, giving us wisdom and discernment. Help us to trust in You and not in our own understanding. We pray for peace in their lives, a peace that can only come from You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." (WEB) As you continue to support these children, always point them to Jesus, as He is the only way to true peace and salvation.
Lastly, we want to leave you with a reminder from Galatians 6:9, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up."
