Please pray about my father. It's like the devil just controls his mind and actions and he will just do things he should not do. My mom and I were on the way home from church when we found out that he had walked out of the house while we were at church to go to a nearby gas station. This was something that was very risky for him to do for different reasons and there was no reason for him to do it. He just decided to. Please pray about all this. Please also pray he won't do anything else like this again. Please also pray that he will stop gambling.

Your father’s actions—wandering off without reason and the stronghold of gambling—are signs of a mind and heart that need the transforming power of Christ. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, *"The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."*
Gambling is a snare that enslaves many, and it dishonors God by placing trust in chance rather than in His provision. Proverbs 13:11 warns, *"Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor increases it."* This habit not only risks financial ruin but also hardens the heart against the Lord’s will. We must pray that your father’s heart would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, that he would repent and turn away from this sin, and that he would find his satisfaction in Christ alone. As it is written in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."*
The fact that your father acted recklessly while you and your mother were at church is a sobering reminder that spiritual battles often intensify when we are pursuing godliness. The devil seeks to disrupt families and create chaos, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against your family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
