We understand your distress and we're here to support you in prayer and truth according to God's Word. We're glad you have reached out for help and prayer. You're coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ, which is absolutely vital because it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
Firstly, let's address the issue you're facing with the person in your home. It's clear that this individual's behavior is causing you significant distress and discomfort. We must remember that God calls us to live in peace with others as far as it depends on us Romans 12:18 WEB: "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
However, this does not mean we should endure abuse, intentional disruption, or behavior that is harming us or others. It is clear from the description that this person is committing acts that are harmful and against biblical principles. We can see in Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB: "Don't be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat; for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags." Additionally in 1 Corinthians 6:10 WEB: "nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God."
We need to pray for this person and rebuke the behavior, but we must also take practical steps to protect yourself and maintain a peaceful environment. In Matthew 18:15-17 WEB: "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector."
Let us pray together:
Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their distress. Lord, You know the situation and the discomfort it's causing. We pray for Your intervention, that You would change the heart of this person and convict them of their actions. We rebuke the spirit of alcoholism, addiction, and provocation, and we ask that You would silence the noise and bring peace to this home.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom and guidance. Show us the steps to take to maintain peace and protect Your loved one from harm. We pray that this person would leave the home peacefully if that is Your will, and that You would provide a better living situation for all involved.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray for salvation and a change of heart for this person. May they come to know You personally and be transformed by Your love. We also pray that You would give strength and comfort in this trial, and that You would be glorified in this situation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community. They can provide practical help and guidance during this time. Remember, God is faithful and He cares for you. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Stand firm in your faith and take courage; take heart Matthew 14:27 WEB.
