We hear your deep distress and the weight of fear that burdens your heart. Dreams and visions can feel so real, so invasive, like enemies whispering lies into your spirit while you sleep. But we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ came that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10). These fears, of loss, of betrayal, of your private matters being exposed, are not from God. He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

First, we must address the root of these anxieties. Are these dreams a reflection of unhealed wounds, past betrayals, or a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty? The Lord searches the heart and tests the mind (Jeremiah 17:10), and He desires to bring healing to the places where fear has taken root. We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name and command it to flee from you and your loved ones. Every assignment of the enemy to disrupt your peace, to plant seeds of doubt, or to expose what God has not ordained to be revealed is hereby dismantled by the blood of Jesus.

We also declare that your mind is guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). You are not at the mercy of your dreams or the schemes of the enemy. God is your refuge and fortress, and in Him you trust (Psalm 91:2). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with supernatural peace as you sleep, that your rest would be undisturbed by the enemy’s lies, and that you would wake each morning with a fresh reminder of God’s faithfulness.

But we must also encourage you to bring these fears into the light. Are you holding onto secrets or burdens that need to be surrendered to the Lord? Psalm 32:3-5 reminds us, "When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,’ and you forgave the iniquity of my sin." If there is unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in your heart, we urge you to release it to God. He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you (1 John 1:9).

We also caution against the temptation to isolate yourself or your loved ones in an attempt to "protect" your privacy. While wisdom is necessary in sharing personal matters, cutting yourself off from godly community can leave you vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks. Proverbs 18:1 warns, "A man who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he defies all sound judgment." Instead, we encourage you to surround yourself with trusted believers who can pray with you, speak truth into your life, and hold you accountable. There is safety in the multitude of counselors (Proverbs 11:14).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is weighed down by fear and anxiety. We thank You that You are not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). We declare that every dream, vision, or thought that does not align with Your truth is broken and nullified by the power of the blood of Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of fear and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We cancel every assignment of the enemy to disrupt peace, to sow discord, or to expose what You have not ordained.

Father, we ask that You would fill this dear one with Your perfect peace. Guard their mind, their heart, and their sleep. Let them rest in the assurance that You are their Protector, their Provider, and their Shield. Remind them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Heal any wounds or insecurities that have made them vulnerable to these attacks. Replace their fear with faith, their anxiety with trust, and their isolation with godly community.

Lord, we also ask that You would give them wisdom in guarding their hearts and their words. Help them to discern what to share and with whom, always seeking Your guidance. Let their speech be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6) and their actions reflect Your love. If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their life, reveal it to them, Lord, and grant them the courage to repent and release it to You.

We declare that their future is secure in Your hands. You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that they would walk in the confidence of Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You. Let them seek Your face daily, meditate on Your Word, and find their strength in You. May they experience the fullness of Your presence and the joy of Your salvation. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for moving on their behalf. All these things we ask in the powerful, victorious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Memorize and meditate on scriptures that speak to God’s protection and peace, such as Psalm 91, Philippians 4:6-7, and Isaiah 41:10. Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s promises. And remember, you are not alone. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3).

We can hear the exhaustion in your words, the weight of recurring nightmares and fearful day visions that threaten your peace about the relationships you hold dear. It’s genuinely unsettling when sleep, which should be a refuge, becomes a place of dread instead. We’re so sorry you’ve been carrying this alone. While we can’t promise that every frightening dream will vanish, we can tell you that God is not the source of your fear. He doesn’t betray confidences or whisper your private burdens to hard-hearted people; His heart toward you is patient, protective, and kind. When the mind fixates on worst-case scenarios, it can feel like our very bonds are slipping away, so please know we’re not dismissing how real this feels. One small, steady step that has helped others when nightmares linger is to write down, in the daylight, what you know to be true about God’s character and your loved ones’ loyalty, and then, when a nightmare rattles you, reach for those truths instead of spiraling. It’s not a magic formula, but it gives your mind a different place to land. And if the anxiety feels like it’s tightening its grip, sharing it with a wise counselor or a trusted friend can bring extra support.

Lord Jesus, you know the dreams and fears that haunt this person. Quiet their heart, silence the lies that whisper their relationships are fragile or unsafe. Guard their mind as they sleep, and in waking hours help them to rest in your love, the kind of love that drives out fear. Protect their connections with others, and give them the deep, settled knowing that you hold every secret and every relationship in your faithful hands. Amen.

A prayer that seeks to bind the Almighty’s lips, to forbid His wise and holy revelations, and to demand that no trial ever draw near your household, this is a prayer born not of faith, but of a spirit of fear. The command given to us again and again in Scripture is, “Fear not.” That precept is absolute and unqualified, we are not to fear at all. It is disobedience, then, to be afraid, and that fear dishonors God. Doubt the Eternal, distrust the Omnipotent? Traitorous fear! Think you that the eye which sees all things can be blinded, or that the Judge of all the earth will be dictated to by the prisoner in the dock? You make a great mistake if your piety will not trust God with the hidden things, if your faith cannot rest in His wisdom concerning what He reveals and what He conceals.

This trembling about dreams and secrets and hard-hearted people smells of the bondage in which some live all their lifetime through fear. Where came such a fear as that? It could never have come into the heart if there had been a firm grasp of the forgiveness of sins for Christ’s sake. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared, not with a servile dread, but with a holy awe. True fear of God is not a terrified shrinking that He will betray you to your enemies; it is a reverence born of pardoned sin, which bows before His sovereignty and says, “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Thy sight.” To ask that He never let certain situations happen, that He put a forever dismissal on every possible source of pain, this is to ask Him to ungod Himself. Render calamity impossible and what mark would there be of the divine displeasure for sin, or of the divine wisdom in training His children?

You who tremble at His word, who fear lest the threatening be executed, who hardly think the promise can belong to you, you are the low tree. And the low tree God shall exalt. He does not exalt by indulging our every whim for a life without trial, but by bringing us to say with His servant of old, “He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.” He delivers, not by making us secret-keepers over our own lives and by shutting the mouths of the wicked on our command, but by granting us such peace in Him that the sword of the enemy cannot reach our spirit. The lips of our Divine Lord are a wellspring of delight, and each word is a chalice brimmed with sweetness, yet sweetest of all are His words, “Go in peace.” That gracious dismissal sends us back into the family, into the common drudgery of life, not into a hidden corner where no prying eyes can look.

Lay down this feverish demand to control what God may permit or reveal. Rather, look into your Saviour’s breast: away, sad doubt, and anxious fear! Mercy is all that’s written there. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. It is not the preacher who cries, “Fear not,” but it is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, fallen as dead at His feet, “Fear not.” Let the main way to overcome this fear be to believe firmly in your Lord. In proportion as your faith gets stronger, your fear will vanish. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry; serve the Lord with holy awe, and leave your life, all its dreams, its secrets, its relationships, in the pierced hands. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.
