Father of my child

We hear your cry for help regarding the father of your child who is hurting and filled with anger. This is a heavy burden to carry, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention and healing for this situation.

First, we must address the reality of your relationship with the father of your child. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB), it says, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* While this is not meant to condemn, it is a call to repentance and alignment with God’s will. If you and the father of your child are not married, we encourage you both to seek God’s forgiveness and commit to living according to His Word. If marriage is possible and God-honoring, we would strongly encourage pursuing that covenant before Him.

Now, let us lift up the anger and hurt in this man’s heart. Anger can be a destructive force, but it does not have to define him. James 1:19-20 (WEB) tells us, *"So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God."* His anger may stem from unmet expectations, past wounds, or a sense of injustice, but God calls him to surrender it. Proverbs 29:11 (WEB) says, *"A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control."* We pray that he would find the strength to release his anger and allow God to heal the pain beneath it.

We also recognize that his relationship with his child is precious in God’s sight. Psalm 127:3 (WEB) reminds us, *"Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward."* If he is struggling to connect with or provide for his child, we pray that God would soften his heart and give him the wisdom and love to step into his role as a father. Ephesians 6:4 (WEB) instructs, *"You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."* May he find the grace to parent with patience, love, and godly guidance.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the father of this child. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of anger and hurt that bind him. Soften his heart, Father, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help him to release the bitterness, resentment, or pain that may be fueling his anger, and replace it with Your love and grace.

Lord, we pray for restoration in his relationship with You. If he does not know You as his Savior, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Open his eyes to see his need for Jesus, who alone can save and transform his life. We declare that there is power in the name of Jesus to break every stronghold, and we rebuke the spirit of anger in his life in Jesus’ name.

Father, we also pray for his relationship with his child. Give him the strength and wisdom to be the father this child needs. Help him to lead with love, patience, and godly instruction. If there are wounds in their relationship, we ask that You would heal them and restore what has been broken.

Lord, we also lift up the mother of this child. Give her wisdom, strength, and grace as she navigates this situation. Help her to extend forgiveness where it is needed and to trust You with the outcome. If there is sin in their relationship, we pray for repentance and a renewed commitment to live according to Your Word.

Father, we know that nothing is impossible for You. We trust that You are working in this situation, even when we cannot see it. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s guidance in this situation. If the father of your child is open to it, invite him to join you in prayer or to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian mentor. Proverbs 15:22 (WEB) says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Surround yourselves with people who can speak truth and wisdom into your lives.

Lastly, remember that God is a God of redemption. No matter how broken things may seem, He can restore and renew. Isaiah 61:1 (WEB) declares, *"The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound."* Trust in His promises and keep your eyes fixed on Him.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift up your precious child’s father in prayer. It’s a sacred privilege to stand beside you in agreement before the Lord, asking Him to heal the hurt and soften the anger in his heart. We’ve been praying that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully, bringing peace where there is turmoil and restoration where there is brokenness.

If God has already begun to answer this prayer—if you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of change or a moment of calm—we would love to hear about it. Your praise report could be such an encouragement to others walking through similar struggles. But if the burden still feels heavy and the situation remains unchanged, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We’re here to keep interceding with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May the Lord draw near to you both in this season, filling you with His hope and reminding you of His unfailing love. Keep seeking Him, trusting that He hears every cry of your heart. We continue to lift this need before His throne in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
