Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about how heavy this has become. Reading complex forms with a deadline while your body is in so much pain, your mind is struggling to find words, and even a short bus ride and walk leaves you needing days or weeks to recover is an exhausting burden to carry. The way you described it as a loan shark charging high interest on energy captures how unnatural and costly every effort feels, and then to be poked over and over for labs with no result and to face a hearing process alone because no firm will take a complex case would leave anyone feeling drained physically and mentally.
It is right and wise that you turned to the Lord as your advocate when no human help was available. So much of what is taught now, even in churches, tells people to look inside themselves, to love themselves more, to tap some power within. Scripture warns against that direction, that we are to worship and serve the Creator rather than the creature, Romans 1:25. That teaching that puts the self at the center does not lead to freedom. It leads to captivity and affliction, because it turns our attention away from the One who alone can help us.
That same pattern is what brought judgment on Judah long ago, and we see the same symptoms around us now. Unless we turn to God for His cure there is no other remedy. His cure is not found in ourselves but in turning to Him through Jesus Christ, trusting Him, depending on Him, and asking Him for what we lack. You did exactly that when you said you have the best advocate in Him, even when your brain stalled and the words would not come. God understands those moments perfectly. He is not distant from stalled thoughts and forgotten words. He hears the heart behind them.
I am praying for you that God will give you what you asked for, wisdom and clarity and strength to get through each step. I pray He will give you understanding as you read the forms, help you meet what is required, and provide someone trustworthy to sit with you and help you go through the paperwork line by line so you do not have to carry the cognitive load alone. I pray He will sustain your body as you return for the labs your doctor needs, that the process will go more smoothly, and that He will give your body rest and recovery in the days after. I pray He will be your advocate in the hearing process, that even without a human lawyer you will be given favor, clear speech when you need it, and peace when you feel overwhelmed.
Ask God daily for wisdom, for He promises to give it generously to those who ask without finding fault, James 1:5. Lean on His strength in your weakness, for His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9. Keep your eyes on the Creator who made you, who knows your frame and your thyroid disease and your learning disabilities and your pain, and who offers mercy and help through Christ alone. He is your helper and defender, and He will not leave you to face this alone.
May the Lord grant you rest when you crash, renewed energy when you must try again, and clear thought to take one small step at a time. May He lift the mental fog and give you words when you need them, and may you know His presence as your counsel and strength through this whole process. In Jesus name, amen.
