Father I come before you as we start our second day of fasting. Firstly I want to say thank you for getting us through Day One. We are half way through. Amen. Thank you for showing us in your word ways we can honor you. As we fast let us remember this is not a hunger strike so that we can get our own way. We fast to show you honor and Glory. We humble ourselves before you because we have gone astray. You told us in your word that if we as your people would humble ourselves and repent, you would hear from heaven and deliver your people.
So Father we humble ourselves before you. We repent of everything that we have done to get us in this situation. Father I know it is easy for us to blame our spouse, but we too were at blame. Somewhere along the line we did not build our marriage on your solid rock. So father we come to you broken, with the pieces of our marriage in our hand. We give it all to you Father. Please forgive us, please mend us, please make us new. Father please renew our spirit and faith.
Father please let us also stop putting limitations on you. As we pray, we always say, Father can you please do this or if only he would do this it would be so much better, etc. Father you know so much better than we do. You are omnipresent and see the whole picture unlike us who only see it from our lowly perspective. So Father I place all of these persons at your feet Father. I ask you Father let your love and forgiveness flow all over us and through us. Let your provision and bounty be seen in our lives. Let us be at peace where we are and trust that you can move us forward to our next stage in faith.
Father increase our faith and let us see you and only you. Father let us see with our eyes of faith our restored marriages, our saved spouses and our abundant life. Please let it be so vivid to us that we live it. Help us to see this and hold to this promise till it is manifested in the physical world.
Father please know that along the way we may get tired and may start to doubt, but Father you already know this. Help us to remember that you already know our feelings and pains and hearts. So when the enemy attacks (and he will), Father please remind us to run to you Father. Please let us remember not to engage him but to just send him straight to you Father.
So Father please keep us during this time and thank you for everything that you have done for us. Thank you for every circumstance that has gotten us here where you want us to be. HUMBLE and REPENTANT before your Father.
