Disciple of Prayer
Lord I need help with my finances and the father of my son. He has left us and now he wants us out of his home. Help me with this situation. I really want my son to grow up with his mom and dad together but let it be your will.

Midnight Exploration: Second Night
The city's hidden sins demand exposure and repentance from those who enable them.
Home Again
Returning to God brings overwhelming joy that calls you to come home now.
A Bloody Monster
The monster of drunkenness destroys lives and families, demanding we reject it to protect our homes and future.
We hear your heart and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we know He cares deeply for you and for your son. To face financial pressure and the threat of losing your home, while also grieving that the father of your child has left, is a heavy trial. We are praying with you that God would be your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that you would feel His nearness even in this uncertainty.

We also hear your desire for your son to grow up with both his mother and father together, and we affirm that this longing reflects God's own design. From the beginning God established marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and said for this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh Genesis 2:24. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4. We want to speak truth to you in love, if you and this man are not married, then living together and sexual intimacy outside of marriage is fornication, which God calls us to flee from 1 Corinthians 6:18. We say this not to condemn you, for all have sinned, but to call you to repentance and to God's better way, where a relationship between a man and a woman is courtship with the goal of marriage to another believer in Christ. If you are already married to this man, then we pray for reconciliation and restoration, for God hates the breaking of covenant. If you are not married, we pray that if it is God's will and both of you know Christ, that He would lead you toward a godly marriage that honors Him, or if not, that He would give you grace to walk in purity and to trust Him for your future and for your son's future. We also pray for the father of your son, that God would convict his heart to take responsibility, for if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. Your son is not forgotten, for God is a father of the fatherless Psalm 68:5.

We lift up your finances and your housing need to our Father who has promised never to leave you, nor forsake you Hebrews 13:5. We know the worry that comes when you do not know where you will live or how bills will be paid, but Jesus reminds us to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, and our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. We encourage you to seek wise counsel and practical help through a local Bible believing church family who can walk with you, help you with stewardship and resources, and support you and your son. We also encourage you to continue to surrender your desires to the Lord as you already have said let it be your will, which is the heart Jesus modeled when He prayed not my will, but yours, be done Luke 22:42. We can trust that in all things God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, even when His answer is not what we hoped for.

We notice you called upon the Lord in your request, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord Romans 10:9, for then you can come boldly before the throne of grace knowing you are forgiven and heard.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother and her son to You. Lord, You see her financial need and the fear of losing her home, and we ask You to provide for her daily bread, to open doors for stable housing and work, and to show her Your faithful provision. We pray for the father of this child, that You would work in his heart, draw him to Yourself, convict him of his responsibilities, and lead him to walk in righteousness. Lord, we pray for this family, if they are not married, we ask for Your forgiveness where there has been sin and for grace to pursue purity and holiness from this day forward. If it is Your will, we pray You would bring about a godly marriage between this man and this woman that honors You, or else give this mother peace and strength to raise her son in Your ways as You are his true Father and protector. Heal her heart from rejection and fear, guard her son, and let Your perfect will be done in their lives. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We are holding you and your son before the Lord in this heavy stretch. Facing financial pressure and the uncertainty of where you will live, while also grieving the distance in your family, is a lot to carry at once. We hear your love for your son and your honest desire for him to have both his mom and dad together, held alongside your willingness to trust God's will.

That tension is painful, and it is understandable to feel pulled in different directions right now.

One steady next step that can help when so much feels uncertain is to bring a couple of calm, practical voices around you soon. If you have a trusted pastor or a mature believer nearby, let them know about the housing timeline you have been given so you are not sorting it alone. Many churches and local community agencies can also connect you with guidance on housing options and with someone to look over your finances and budget with you. Having a clear picture of resources and next options can bring a little breathing room while you continue to pray through the relationship questions.

We are asking God to give you wisdom, provision, and gentle support in the days ahead.

Father, we lift this mother and her son to You. You see their needs for a safe place to live and for daily provision, and You see the ache in her heart for her family. Give her wisdom for each decision, surround her with trustworthy help, and guard and comfort her son. Lead her step by step and draw her close to Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been heard and we have carried it before the throne of grace with you. To be pressed in finances, to face the loss of a home, and to grieve over a father leaving his child is a heavy trial, and the Lord sees your tears and your desire for your son to know the security of a whole family.

We are reminded that our Lord Jesus Christ is a Restorer. As it has been preached among us, Peter was down but he was soon up again, for Christ had prayed for him, saying, I have prayed for you. That same intercession stands for all who trust Him. He knows our sifting and our falling, and His look can sever us from the crowd and bring us to repentance, and His grace can restore the soul. Whatever heaviness you feel today, hear this promise, He restores my soul, and His restoration is available now, not by going round by Sinai, but by looking to Christ alone for salvation and for healing.

You have prayed, let it be your will, and that is the right and peaceful place to stand. We join you in that prayer. The Scriptures teach that marriage is not a mere convenience or a living arrangement, but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered by choice on both sides and cemented by mutual love, wherein the two become one. It is a holy union ordained by God, and it is within that covenant that a home is to be built and that children are to be nurtured. Living together apart from that covenant is not His design, and we cannot ask God to bless what is outside His holy way.

Therefore our prayer for you is shaped by His word and His wisdom. We pray that the Lord, who is your Shepherd, will provide for your daily needs and open a door for safe and stable housing for you and your son. We pray that He will give you wisdom, strength and the practical help of His people around you in this time of need. We pray for the father of your son, that the Lord would work in his heart, bring him to know Christ and to walk in responsibility, truth and tenderness toward you and toward the child he has fathered. If it be the Lord's will to bring restoration to your family, we pray that it would be a true restoration upon the foundation of holy marriage as God ordained, with commitment, love and faithfulness, not merely a return to what was. And if otherwise, we pray that the Lord will guard you and your son, give you peace in His will, and make your home a place of grace and godliness though you walk through this valley.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, continue in prayer and in fellowship with Jesus, and trust that He who prayed for Peter prays also for you and will not let His own be lost in the sifting. May the Lord comfort your heart, supply your needs according to His riches in Christ, and lead you step by step in the path that is holy and good.

We are praying with you, that you would know the restoring grace of Christ, that your son would be raised in the knowledge and love of the Lord, and that your future would be ordered by the Lord's merciful hand.

Amen.
