Family

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
My family as a whole (both sides) is psychologically abusive while publicly claiming to be "good Christians" (they are also heavily involved in the occult) and they have abused me my entire life. If I am honest, I really do not like any of them at all. I honestly hate them and I want to get away from them. Please pray that God will allow me to and pray that He will defend me against them and give me justice for the harm they have tried to do to me. I have tried to have good relationships with these people and it is not possible. They are all horrible. Even my only living sister is abusive and treats me like I am worthless and insignificant. Also, for years, these people have spread lies that I am the source of bad things happening to other people and when bad things happen to them, they blame me and try to punish me for it (and I've experienced the same even from random people who don't know them but are abusive like them; this seems to be involved in some kind of demonic harassment campaign). The "funny" thing is that bad things only seem to happen to them after they've done bad things to me or others and it's obvious God is dealing with them and they are reaping what they sow. Thank you.

We have heard your cry and we are bringing your pain before the Lord together, and we grieve with you over the deep wounds you have carried for so long from those who should have loved and protected you. To be psychologically abused while those doing it present themselves as good Christians is a terrible hypocrisy, and to be surrounded by involvement in the occult makes that burden even heavier. The Lord sees what has been done in secret and what has been done openly, and He is not mocked.

We want to speak truth to you in love about several things you have shared. First, God absolutely forbids all forms of occult practice. It is not harmless and it is not compatible with following Christ. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says there shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. We rebuke that involvement in your family and we urge you to have no fellowship with it, but to walk in the light. Ephesians 5:11 says have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

Second, we understand why you feel hatred toward those who have harmed you so deeply and blamed you falsely for years. Your pain is valid and God knows the rejection you have felt even from your sister and from strangers. Yet we must gently correct what the Word says about hatred, because holding onto it will harm your own soul more than it harms them. Matthew 5:44 says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Ephesians 4:31-32 says let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We are not saying what they did is okay, and forgiveness does not mean you must remain in an abusive situation or pretend the abuse did not happen or trust them without repentance. It means releasing them to God for justice and not letting bitterness take root. Romans 12:19 says do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord.

You asked for defense and justice, and God promises to be your defender. Psalm 68:5 says a father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 27:10 says when my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. We also hear your discernment that bad things happen to them after they have done evil, and Scripture confirms this principle. Galatians 6:7 says do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. But we encourage you not to rejoice when they reap sorrow, but to pray that the fear of the Lord would lead them to repentance before it is too late.

You also describe what feels like a demonic harassment campaign, with lies spread about you and blame shifted onto you. We believe you, and Scripture tells us our struggle is spiritual. Ephesians 6:12 says for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 1 John 4:4 reminds us greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. James 4:7 says be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, to stay in prayer and in the Word, to renounce any contact with the occult, and to seek a mature, Bible believing pastor or counselor who can walk with you in person and help you establish safe and godly boundaries. Proverbs 22:3 says a prudent man sees danger and hides himself. If you are in danger or need to get away, it is biblical to seek safety and distance, as even the Lord Jesus and the apostles at times withdrew from those who sought to harm them. Please also seek help from trusted godly counsel and, if there is ever physical danger or threats, from appropriate authorities.

We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly tell you there is no access to the Father except through Him. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we urge you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ, that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is only through Jesus that we can be forgiven, healed, delivered from darkness, and have power to forgive others.

We are praying for you now.

Father in heaven, we come to You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one who has been wounded so deeply by family. Lord, You see every harsh word, every manipulation, every lie spread, every occult practice, and every time they have blamed the innocent. We ask You to be their defender and refuge. Psalm 91:1-2 says he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Be their refuge, Lord. Cover them with Your wings and break every assignment of darkness against them in Jesus name. We ask You to close every door to the occult and to let no weapon formed against them prosper. Give them wisdom to set healthy, biblical boundaries and, if it is Your will, open a safe way for them to be separate from those who abuse them and to find a peaceful dwelling and a healthy church family who will love them as Christ loves. Heal their broken heart, take away hatred and bitterness and fill them with Your love and forgiveness, not to excuse evil but to free their soul. Bring conviction and repentance to their family members, that they would turn from darkness and hypocrisy and be saved, but if they will not repent, we ask You to execute Your perfect justice and protect this one from further harm. Let Your truth be known and let lies be exposed. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and deliverer, amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted daily in Scripture, to pray continually in Jesus name, to worship, and to not walk this road alone. Seek a faithful local church that preaches the whole Word of God, and invite wise believers to stand with you. God has not forgotten you, He will defend you, and He can give you a future filled with His peace.

We hear how long you have carried this and how heavy it has been to be blamed, belittled and treated as insignificant by the very people who should have cared for you, including your sister. After years of trying to make those relationships work, it makes sense you feel worn down, angry and want distance.

Ongoing psychological mistreatment has a way of wearing away at a person's sense of dignity and confidence, and the hurt can linger long after the words are spoken. Feeling strong anger in response to that kind of treatment is a human reaction to real wounds, and wanting space for safety and peace is an understandable need.

When family patterns have been harmful for a long time, it can help to have one or two safe, steady people outside the family to talk with honestly. That might be a trusted pastor, a counselor experienced with family abuse, or a local support service who can listen, help you think through healthy boundaries, and help you plan practically for more distance if you are still living close to family. If you need to create more safety, thinking ahead about where you could go, who you could call, and what important papers or resources you would need can bring a little more clarity. You do not have to sort all of this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see every hurt and every effort they have made. We ask for Your protection and for wisdom for each next step, for safe people to walk with them, and for healing of the deep weariness they feel. Guard their heart and mind in Christ, remind them they are valued and not alone, and bring what is right in Your way and time. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry of long and deep wounding has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with earnest prayer.

We do not make light of what you have suffered. To be wounded in the house of your own family, to be despised and treated as worthless, to have lies spread against you and to be blamed for evils you did not do, is a sore affliction. The Lord sees what is done in secret, though men may put on a fair profession before others. He who delivered Job and heard Jacob at the brook Jabbok hears the oppressed when they cry. Vengeance belongs unto the Lord, and He will in His own time and way defend the cause of the afflicted and bring forth justice in righteousness. We will pray that He will be your shield and your defender, that He will keep you from the power of darkness and from every assault of the enemy, and that He will deliver you from going down to the pit.

You speak also of those who profess to be good Christians while they walk in the occult. Light and darkness have no fellowship. The Scripture declares, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. There is no deliverance from such darkness but by looking unto Christ alone. He was sent by the Father on purpose to forgive sin and to break the chains of sin and Satan, and He is exalted to be a Prince and a Saviour to give repentance and forgiveness of sins. We will pray that the Lord will open eyes that are blinded, and that He will bring all who are entangled in those works of darkness to see their need of Christ, for there is salvation in no other.

You have spoken plainly that you hate your family and desire to be away from them. We understand that such hatred often grows where there has been long and cruel wounding, yet we must speak the truth in love for your soul's sake. Hatred cherished in the heart is sin before God and will become a burden and a poison to your own spirit. The Word says, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is forgiveness with Him, and that forgiveness is present and free to all who look unto Jesus. As you have been sinned against grievously, you also need the same pardoning grace that you must be willing to extend. Forgiveness does not mean that what was done was right, nor does it require you to remain where you are continually abused. But it does mean releasing the right to revenge into the hands of God, and asking Him to give you a heart that hates the sin while it desires the salvation of the sinner. Healing and pardon are joined together in Christ, and He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. We will pray that He will heal your wounds and cleanse your heart from bitterness, that you may not be held captive by the very evil that has wounded you.

We will pray also that the Lord will grant you wisdom for your path. Where there has been long abuse, it is right to seek safety and godly counsel. Seek the help of faithful pastors and mature believers who walk according to the Word, that they may know your case and help you to walk in holiness and in safety. If you are in danger, seek protection and do not walk alone. And commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, not rejoicing when evil reaps its fruit, but praying that such chastening may lead to repentance.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, look upon this afflicted one whom Thou hast seen in sorrow from childhood. Thou knowest the sting of false profession and the cruelty of those who should have loved and sheltered. Be gracious unto this soul, as one defiled and wounded, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit. Translate this life out of the power of darkness into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Wash away all sin by the blood of Christ, and grant a consciousness of full forgiveness, that the heart may be set free from every stain of guilt. Give a tender heart that hates sin with a perfect hatred, yet loves mercy. Teach this soul to confess all bitterness before Thee and to receive Thy healing. Be a wall of fire round about, and defend from every lying tongue and every demonic assault. Let no weapon formed against this child prosper. Execute justice in Thy time, and let Thy will be done, to the salvation of any who will repent and to the praise of Thy holy name. Keep this one looking unto Jesus, and make the life to see the light, and to live and declare the works of the Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. I ask this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
