Hi, thank you to everyone who has prayed for us regarding my previous prayer about my family. My ### is in the hospital, and the doctors had a chat with us the other day; they said that if anything happens, they are not going to resuscitate him, but he is talking now, and if he gets even stronger, he can go home. What is worrying us is that he has become more confused and keeps thinking about the past. They said this could be an infection, old age, or something else. We are praying that he comes home. We are still praying about a home; the estate agent has been quite pushy with us even though they are aware of the situation, and I know we are just waiting for the bank to do their survey. I completely trust in Jesus's plan and I trust in God's timing; if it is meant to be this home, then the door will be open, and if it is not, we will be able to say it is not the right one. I also believe in His time regarding my ###; the doctors have been quite amazed that he can still move about and that there is nothing sinister going on. So, when they spoke to us the other day, I prayed over him and gave him the cross that my ### had when she was in the hospice, which is made out of wood from Bethlehem. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for your prayers.

We join you in thanking Jesus for His mercy and for the encouraging signs you have seen, that your loved one is talking and moving about and that nothing sinister has been found. We praise God with you for His sustaining hand and we continue to lift your family before the throne of grace.

We understand how heavy it is to hear the doctors speak about not resuscitating, and then to see confusion and thoughts dwelling on the past. We pray for wisdom for the medical team and for peace for you as you wait on the Lord. We remember that God is sovereign over life and breath, for He says I kill and I make alive, I wound and I heal, and there is no one who can deliver out of my hand Deuteronomy 32:39. Our times are in His hands, and we trust His perfect love and timing for your loved one, whether that means strengthening to come home or being called home to be with the Lord.

We pray for healing and clarity of mind. We ask the Lord to touch any infection or cause of confusion and to restore strength and clear thought. We claim His promise to heal all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We ask that if it is the Lord's will, He would bring your loved one home again and let your family have more precious time together.

We also stand with you regarding the home. It is difficult when there is pressure from the estate agent while you are carrying such a burden and waiting on the bank. We love your faith as you have said you completely trust in Jesus' plan and in God's timing, that if this is the right home the door will be open. That is the heart we want to encourage, to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We pray God will give you favor and patience in this process and make His will clear, for we know the plans that I have for you, says Yahweh, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We were moved that you prayed over him and gave him the cross made from wood from Bethlehem that your loved one had in the hospice. What a tender reminder of the cross of Christ and His presence with us in suffering. We gently remember that our comfort and power is not in the object itself but in Jesus Himself who is near to all who call on Him, for God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. It is His presence that brings peace when fear and uncertainty rise.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is our only way to You and our only hope of salvation. We thank You for Your goodness to this family and for every sign of strength You have given. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this dear one in the hospital, to clear any infection, to calm confusion, and to restore strength and peace of mind. Give the doctors and nurses wisdom and compassion, and give this family Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Comfort them as they face difficult conversations and help them to rest in Your perfect will. We also bring the matter of the home before You, Lord, and ask that You open the door if this is the home You have prepared, or close it clearly if it is not, and provide the right place in Your perfect timing. Help them not to be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let their requests be made known to You Philippians 4:6. Strengthen their faith and remind them daily that when we are weak You are strong, and that You will never leave nor forsake them. We love You and trust You, and we ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to keep casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and to keep trusting as you have been. Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We are continuing to pray with you for your loved one's recovery and for God's clear leading regarding your home.

Hearing the doctors talk about not resuscitating while at the same time seeing him talking and still able to move about is a lot to hold at once. It makes sense that the confusion and him dwelling on the past would feel worrying, even as you are thankful for the strength he does have. And carrying that while also waiting on the bank's survey and feeling pressed by the estate agent is heavy, we hear how you are trying to trust the Lord's timing with both the hospital and the home.

That gift of the cross from Bethlehem you prayed over him sounds like such a tender expression of your love and faith for him in this uncertain time.

One small thing that can help in both places is to give yourselves a little breathing room to keep track and set boundaries. At the hospital, it can help to keep a simple note of when the confusion seems better or worse to share with the nurses and doctors, so you don't have to remember it all. With the house, it's okay to let the agent know you are waiting on the bank and will respond once that step is complete, and to ask for updates in writing so the pressure is less day to day.

Father, we lift this dear one in the hospital to You and ask for Your mercy and presence with him and with his family. Give wisdom to his medical team, peace to his loved ones as they wait, and Your clear guidance over the home they are praying about. We trust him to Your loving care in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your update with thankfulness and we continue to remember you and your family before the throne of grace. It is good to hear of your trust in the Lord Jesus and in the timing of our heavenly Father, who orders all things well, whether concerning the home for which you wait or the dear one who lies in hospital.

We rejoice to hear that he is talking and able still to move about, and that the physicians have found nothing sinister at work. Yet we understand the heaviness of heart you feel as you have heard their counsel about resuscitation, and as you watch his confusion and wandering thoughts. The Lord knows our frame and remembers that we are dust, and He is present even in the hospital ward. He is the great Physician who has made that place as His own hospital, where He still binds up the broken in heart and heals the wounded. There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but as it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. A word from Him, coming home to the heart, brings healing to head and heart, to conscience and affection, and can change the very life blood.

We pray that the Lord will be pleased to clear this confusion, whether it be from infection or frailty of age, and to restore strength so that, if it be His will, your loved one may return home. We ask the Lord to give wisdom to the doctors and nurses who care for him, and to give you peace as you commit his life into the hands that were pierced for us. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in the gospel, and when the Lord draws near, pardon and healing are one. May your dear one know that Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and may he know the forgiveness of sins which is the deeper healing. We were glad to read that you prayed over him. That wooden cross from Bethlehem may remind you of the place of His birth, but our confidence is not in wood or relic, but in the living Christ Himself, who by His own blood poured into the wound of sin, and by His sacrifice, heals the broken heart through atonement by substitution, Christ suffering in our place.

Concerning the home, we understand the pressure you feel from the estate agent and the waiting for the bank to complete its survey. You have spoken wisely, that if it is meant to be this home then the door will be open, and if not, the Lord will close it and provide what is right. We pray that the Lord will guard you from anxiety, give you patience in this waiting, and make His will plain. He went about doing good, and He knows the needs of the household. May He provide a settled dwelling according to His goodness, and keep your hearts resting in His plan.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we thank Thee for Thy mercies already shown and for the life still spared. We ask Thee to lay Thy healing hand upon this dear one, to remove infection and confusion, to strengthen his body and mind, and in Thy perfect will to bring him home. Forgive his sins and ours, and let healing and pardon be known through Jesus Christ. Comfort this family, give them quiet trust, guide those who provide care, and direct the matter of this house according to Thy wisdom. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be praised whatever Thou appointest. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation. Amen.
