We join with you in lifting up your daughter and her fiance and their beautiful children before the Lord, and we share your desire to see this family kept together and strengthened in God's love. We understand your heart for the children to have both their mother and father present and united, for children are a heritage and a gift from the Lord Psalm 127:3, and God designed the family to be founded upon the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman.

We want to speak truth in love about God's design for this relationship. Scripture teaches Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24, and So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. An engagement is a promise and a time of courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer, not simply a partnership to be tested. Because your daughter and her fiance have children together outside of marriage, we must lovingly address that God calls sexual intimacy outside of marriage fornication and He calls us to honor marriage. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4, and Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Cor 6:18. If there has been sin in this area we encourage repentance and receiving forgiveness through Christ, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. The most loving and stable foundation for these children and for both of them is not simply staying together, but entering into a holy marriage covenant before God if they are both believers and it is God's will, pursuing purity, faithfulness and commitment from this day forward.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, believing He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and brought into right relationship with God Romans 10:9. We pray that your daughter, her fiance, and your whole family know this hope.

We pray together now in Jesus name. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this daughter and her fiance and their precious children to You. Lord, You know the struggles and tensions they are facing and the pain of the thought of separation. We ask that You pour out Your mercy and grace upon them, that You would convict where there is sin and bring repentance, forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. We pray that if they do not yet know You, they would come to salvation in Christ, and if they do, that they would seek You first and honor You in their relationship. Lead them toward a godly marriage that honors You, if it is Your will, that they would not simply cohabit or remain engaged indefinitely but would make a holy covenant before You. Teach them to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Eph 4:32, and to let love bind them together in unity Col 3:14. Give them wisdom to communicate with patience, to seek godly counsel from pastors or mature believers, and to put the well being of their children and the holiness of their home above selfish desires. Protect these children, Lord, and let them be raised in a home where Your word is honored and where both mother and father model faithfulness. We ask that what You join together in marriage, no man would tear apart, and that this family would be restored and strengthened for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for them and to encourage them toward God honoring steps. Urge them to seek the Lord together, to study Scripture together, to pursue pastoral counseling, and to move toward marriage rather than living in uncertainty. Encourage them to flee from fornication and to pursue purity before and within marriage, trusting that God's ways bring true joy and security. We stand with you believing that God is able to heal, restore and make this family strong in Christ as they submit to Him.

We can hear how much you love your daughter , her fiance , and those beautiful grandchildren. Wanting them to stay together as a family and for the children to have both mom and dad close is such a deep, caring concern, and we are honored you shared it with us.

When a young family is under strain, the pressure can make it hard for a couple to hear each other well. One thing that often helps is when the people around them can be a calm, safe presence rather than adding more pressure to fix things quickly. Your steady love and prayer already matter more than you may realize.

A gentle next step could be to let ### know you are praying for wisdom and peace for her and ###, and for what is best for the children, and to ask if there is a practical way to ease their load right now, like helping with the kids for an evening or simply listening without trying to solve it for them. If they are open, encouraging them to talk with a trusted pastor or counselor together could give them space to work through things honestly.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You, and their children, and we lift this parent who loves them so much. Bring wisdom, healing where there is hurt, and clear direction as they consider next steps. Guard the children and give them security and peace. Give this whole family Your comfort and help them to seek Your will with open hearts. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden for your daughter and her fiance and for those dear children has been heard, and it is right that you should bring it before the Lord, for He is the God of Peace and He has, on His part, prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation.

The first and deepest need in that home is not merely that two persons should remain together, but that each soul should be reconciled unto God by Jesus Christ. All things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. We can speak of this peace from experience, for we have felt it, and we long that your daughter and the father of her children should know it also. There is no true and lasting unity apart from being made new creatures in Christ, washed in His blood and born into the family of God. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and until the heart is right with God, no other union can be holy or secure.

You ask that they may not be separated, and we understand your love for the children who need both mother and father. Yet the Scripture bids us to keep the unity of the Spirit, and that is not a unity in error or a unity merely for outward peace. There is a unity which is ruin if it be not in the truth of God through the Spirit of God. Divisions never begin with those full of love to the Saviour, and true unity is found as each one lives near to Christ. For this reason we cannot ask God to bless a relationship as it now stands outside His holy ordinance, but we do pray with all earnestness that He will work by His Holy Spirit to make it holy.

Marriage, as God has ordained it, is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, cemented by mutual love, wherein the two become one by solemn choice before God. It is not a relationship of convenience or of nature only, but of covenant. The Lord says, I am married unto you, and He hates putting away. Sex and living together belong within that covenant alone. If your daughter and her fiance love one another and have taken responsibility for children, let them be urged, not simply to continue as they are, but to turn from all that is unholy and to enter into that honourable estate which God has appointed. Let them seek first the forgiveness of sins through the Lamb, for as the Lamb He proved His love and as the Lamb He makes a marriage to be blessed. Where there is true love to Christ on both sides, there can be a true marriage which reflects His love to the Church.

And for the children, we pray with tender care. Your children need the Spirit of God to give them new hearts and right spirits, or else they will go astray as others do. The soul's price does not depend upon its years, and of such is the Kingdom of God. The Lord deals with His children as a mother teaches her little ones to walk, with great patience, because they are His own offspring, and like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him. What a mercy if those little ones should be brought early to the Saviour, and should see in their parents not only affection but holiness, not only togetherness but godliness, with family prayer diligently maintained.

So we will pray thus before the Lord for you all.

O Lord God of Peace, look upon this family. Have mercy upon this daughter and this man, forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus Christ, and draw each of them to true repentance and faith. Reconcile them first unto Thyself, and then, if it be Thy will, reconcile them to one another in a holy and lawful marriage, that they may live together as one in Thy sight, faithful till death. Give them grace to forsake all impurity and to walk in Thy ways. Lay Thy hand upon those beautiful children, keep them, provide for them, and in Thy time bring them also to know Thee, that they may be Thy children indeed, led by Thy Spirit. Teach this mother and grandmother to wait upon Thee with patience, to speak the word of reconciliation faithfully and in love, and to trust Thy perfect wisdom. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.
