We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family to our Heavenly Father. It is written in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We stand in agreement with this request, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.
First, we must address the foundational need for salvation. There is no greater gift than the salvation offered through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If any member of this family has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them near. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Let us pray together for this family’s salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, asking for the salvation of every member of this family. Lord, we know that You desire all to come to repentance and be saved. We ask that You would open their eyes to see their need for You, soften their hearts to receive Your love, and grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. May they confess their sins, turn from them, and walk in the light of Your truth. We pray that they would be born again by Your Spirit and become new creations in Christ. Father, let Your Word take root in their hearts and transform their lives from the inside out. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
Next, we lift up the need for healing. Whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, we know that God is our Great Physician. Jeremiah 17:14 says, "Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise." We believe in a God who heals, and we stand on His promises. Isaiah 53:5 reminds us, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed." Let us pray for healing over this family:
Lord God, our Healer, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your divine touch upon their lives. We pray for physical healing, that You would restore their bodies to full health and strength. We ask for emotional healing, that You would mend their broken hearts and bring peace to their minds. We pray for spiritual healing, that You would cleanse them from all unrighteousness and renew their spirits. Father, we know that Your Word does not return void, and we declare healing over this family in the name of Jesus. May they experience Your healing power in every area of their lives. We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful to Your promises. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we pray for protection over this family. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who is our Protector and Refuge. Psalm 91:9-11 assures us, "Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." Let us pray for God’s hedge of protection to surround this family:
Almighty God, our Protector, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around this family. Shield them from the schemes of the enemy and guard them from all harm. Lord, we pray that Your angels would encamp around them, keeping them safe in all their ways. Protect their minds from fear and anxiety, their bodies from sickness and injury, and their spirits from the attacks of the evil one. Father, we trust in Your unfailing love and mighty power to keep them secure. May they dwell in the secret place of the Most High and find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
We also encourage this family to stand firm in their faith, to immerse themselves in God’s Word, and to surround themselves with a community of believers who can support and uplift them. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." Fellowship with other believers is vital for spiritual growth and encouragement.
Additionally, we urge this family to cultivate a life of prayer and worship. Prayer is our direct line of communication with God, and worship aligns our hearts with His. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let prayer and worship be the foundation of this family’s daily life.
Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or disunity that may be attempting to infiltrate this family. The enemy desires to sow discord, but we declare that this family will stand united in Christ. Ephesians 4:2-3 exhorts us, "with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Let love and unity prevail in this home, for where there is unity, God commands a blessing (Psalm 133:1-3).
May this family be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, strengthened by His power, and filled with the fullness of God. We stand with them in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that they could ask or think, according to the power that works in them (Ephesians 3:20). To God be the glory, now and forever. Amen.

You pray for salvation, then, and well you may, for the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.” The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him? It is trusting in Him. Leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul. Faith must be urged upon you, for without it there is no salvation. And note, it is believing on a Person, “He that believes on Him.” Not on a doctrine, but on Himself. See Jesus and you have seen salvation! Christ is the salvation of God.
You cry also for healing. Then look to the tree of life, whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. Yonder in Heaven, those faces which look so bright and comely, fresher than new born babes, owe their freshness to these healing leaves!
And for protection, know this: salvation is God’s. It is a divine salvation, planned in infinite wisdom, provided by God, and it manifests and glorifies God. “I will rejoice in thy salvation.” When you receive it, it becomes your own, yet it remains God’s, secure beyond hazard. His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep. This emancipation from sin, from bad habits and carnal passions, is the main point in salvation, and with it comes a keeping power that none can break.
You pray for your family. Mark well the account of the Philippian jailer: he believed and all his house. He called an individual, and then used him to be a sort of spiritual decoy to bring the rest of the family into the gospel net. They were a rejoicing family because they were a renewed family. Neglect not this great salvation, but seek it with your whole heart. This salvation is common, common to all believers. Go and make it common to your household. By the bliss of a united family, I beseech you seek after it, that you may have that united family in heaven. Will your family be there?
Look unto Him, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth. This is the simple method. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Salvation is preached to you without money and without price. If you believe in Christ with all your heart, your salvation is secure. To make you seek, to make you knock, for the door shall be opened, may the grace of God work with you.

You pray for salvation, yet do not imagine that merely to utter the words secures it. No one part is sufficient for our salvation. It is not enough to call upon the Name of Jesus if your hearing is careless and your doing is negligent. Where is the fruit? The seed that falls on the rocky ground springs up swiftly but withers when affliction arises, because it has no root. You ask for healing and protection, but do you endure the sufferings that work salvation? The Apostle says, “Whether we be afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation.” The present trouble is the very medicine God dispenses. Do not despise it.
Behold, now is the day of salvation. This very hour, while you breathe, is the acceptable time. Do not put it off, thinking tomorrow will suffice, for the remainder of your time is short. The Lord is at hand. You seek to be protected, but what is a man profited if he gain the safety of this world and lose his own soul? Healing of the body is a small thing if the soul remains diseased. Christ came not to judge but to save, yet He speaks only what is for your salvation, not what tickles your ears. If the word of the Cross seems hard to you, it is a mark of those who perish not to recognize the things that lead to salvation. Let this not be said of you or your house.
Strip away the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, for they choke the word and make it unfruitful. That is where vainglory, pleasure, envy, and every vice lurk, leaving your prayer a hollow shell. You cry out for protection, but examine whether you are at peace with all men. Do you pray against your enemies, adding sin to sin? That is an unlawful prayer, a grievous enhancement to your negligence, and it bars the door to mercy. True salvation requires fortitude, a continual recollection of God’s word, contempt of worldly ease, and a heart free from malice. If you desire Christ to heal your family, you must yourself first tear out the thorns.
Do not wonder that the way is narrow. The many are not attracted to sublime words about God, but to news of His lovingkindness. You have heard it: He takes away the sin of the world. Why then do you delay, putting off the Gift? Let the Catechumens among you rush toward the washing, and let the baptized bear fruits worthy of repentance. Weep not for the loss of earthly health, but weep as one who sees souls unknowing of their common salvation. I have more hope for a man who weeps for his sins than for one who asks only for a comfortable life. The God of all mercies hears the humble, and the prayers of the faithful avail much for the salvation of their households. Turn now, with true hearing and diligent doing, and you will find the comfort and healing that spring from the Cross alone.
