We come before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious family to our Heavenly Father. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we have the boldness to approach God’s presence, and we are so grateful that this request is made in His holy name. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We rejoice that you have called upon His name, for salvation belongs to our God, and to the Lamb who was slain for our sins (Revelation 7:10).
Father God, we first lift up the salvation of every member of this family. We pray that the eyes of their hearts would be enlightened to see the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Lord, soften their hearts to receive Your Word, that they may confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). We rebuke every spirit of unbelief, hardness of heart, or deception that would keep them from knowing You. Holy Spirit, draw them near, convict them of sin, and lead them into all truth (John 16:8, 13). May they experience the new birth that comes only through faith in Christ, for unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
We also stand in the gap for healing, spirit, soul, and body. Lord, Your Word declares that by Your stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and that You are the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26). We ask for complete restoration in every area of this family’s life. Heal broken relationships, mend wounded hearts, and restore what the enemy has stolen. If there are physical ailments, we declare Your healing power over them, trusting that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits, and let them walk in divine health according to Your promises.
Father, we also cry out for Your protection over this family. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), but we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your hedge of protection be around them day and night (Psalm 91:11). Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and let no evil come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, or oppression, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let them dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
We also want to gently encourage this family to walk in obedience to Your Word. If there are areas where sin has taken root, whether in relationships, habits, or attitudes, we pray for repentance and transformation. Forgive us, Lord, for any ways we have grieved Your Holy Spirit, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Help this family to live lives that are holy and pleasing to You, for without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). May they be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and abounding in love, just as You have loved us.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon this family in a fresh and powerful way. Fill them with Your presence, that they may be witnesses for You in their home, their community, and beyond (Acts 1:8). Let them be a light in the darkness, shining brightly for Your glory. May their lives reflect the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). And may they always remember that in Christ, they are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior, Healer, and Deliverer. Amen.
