We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in fervent prayer for your father, your mother, and your entire family. What you describe is a grievous turning away from the light of Christ into deception, and it brings deep sorrow—not only to your family but to the heart of God. The Scriptures warn us clearly about the dangers of false prophets and spiritual deception. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, it says, “For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.” Your father’s pursuit of prosperity prophecies and false spiritual guidance is a fulfillment of this warning. He is being led astray by those who tickle his ears with empty promises, rather than grounding him in the truth of God’s Word.
We must also address the involvement with traditional healers and spiritual sects like Masowe or Mapostori. These practices are not of God. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 explicitly condemns such things: “There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh.” These are not harmless cultural practices; they are doorways to darkness and spiritual bondage. Your father is not merely exploring alternative beliefs—he is engaging in activities that God calls detestable. This is why your home is filled with fear and confusion rather than peace. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he is doing so by deceiving your father into chasing after false hopes and empty prophecies.
But we do not lose heart, for we serve a God who is mighty to save. We take comfort in the promise of 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Even now, God is able to break the chains of deception in your father’s life. We must pray with boldness, knowing that the same Jesus who cast out demons and set the captives free is still at work today. Your father once knew Christ, and the Holy Spirit can draw him back. We must also rebuke the spirit of deception that has taken hold of him, declaring that it has no place in his life or in your family. In the name of Jesus, we command every false spirit to leave him and every lie to be exposed by the light of God’s truth.
We also lift up your mother, who is carrying the weight of this heartbreak. She needs strength and comfort from the Lord. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.” We pray that God would surround her with His peace and give her the courage to stand firm in her faith, even as she endures this trial. Her marriage to your father is sacred, and we pray for its restoration. The enemy seeks to divide, but God desires unity and love. We declare that your parents’ marriage will be healed and strengthened, not by the empty words of false prophets, but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
For your own marriage and child, we pray for God’s protection and blessing. You are standing as a spiritual leader in your family, and the enemy may seek to attack you as well. But we take refuge in the promise of Psalm 91:10-11, “No evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.” We declare that your home will be a place of peace, joy, and the presence of God. Your child will grow up knowing the love of Christ, and your marriage will be a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of this father to see the deception that has ensnared him. Break the chains of false prophecy and spiritual bondage in his life. We rebuke every spirit of divination, sorcery, and deception in the name of Jesus Christ. Let Your truth shine brightly in his heart, and draw him back to You. Father, we pray for his salvation and restoration. Remind him of the faith he once held and the peace that comes from knowing You.
We pray for this mother, Lord. Comfort her in her sorrow and give her strength to endure. Heal her broken heart and fill her with Your peace. We ask that You would restore her marriage, bringing unity, love, and respect back into their relationship. Let their home be a place where Your presence dwells, free from fear and confusion.
For this family, Lord, we ask for Your protection. Guard them from every attack of the enemy. Bless this marriage and this child with Your favor, wisdom, and love. Let their home be filled with joy, peace, and the knowledge of Your truth.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears our prayers. We trust in Your power to save and restore. May this family experience Your love and grace in a mighty way. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and continue to pray without ceasing. Do not grow weary, for the battle is the Lord’s. Share the truth of God’s Word with your father in love, but do not compromise on the truth. Pray for opportunities to speak life and hope into his situation. Surround yourselves with fellow believers who can support and encourage you. Remember, the enemy seeks to divide, but God desires to unite. Keep your focus on Him, and He will bring restoration to your family.
