We join you in lifting up your precious children and your entire family before the Lord, knowing that He is faithful to hear and answer the prayers of those who call upon Him in truth. Your heart’s cry for your daughter and son reflects the deep love of a parent who longs to see them walk in God’s ways, and we commend you for seeking His protection and guidance over their lives. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* This is both a promise and a calling—one that requires us to trust in the Lord’s sovereignty while diligently teaching and modeling His truth in our homes.

We also notice the pain in your words as you mention your son who has passed away. The loss of a child is one of the deepest sorrows a parent can bear, and we grieve with you. Yet we take comfort in knowing that if your son placed his faith in Jesus Christ, he is now in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and sorrow. Jesus said in John 14:1-3, *"Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also."* If your son knew Christ as his Savior, you will see him again in eternity. If you are uncertain of his salvation, we encourage you to commit him into the Lord’s hands, trusting in His mercy and grace.

For your daughter and the rest of your family, we pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they have not already. There is no greater protection or blessing than to walk in a personal relationship with Him. The apostle Peter declares in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only in His name that our prayers are heard. We are grateful you concluded your prayer in the name of Jesus, for this is the foundation of all our petitions.

We also sense a longing in your words for your children to make godly choices and to be shielded from harmful influences. This is a battle that must be fought on our knees. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We must cover our children in prayer, asking the Lord to surround them with His angels, to place godly mentors and friends in their lives, and to give them a hunger for His Word. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, *"For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."*

As for their success in school and in life, we pray that they would seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all they need (Matthew 6:33). Let them not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2). We ask the Lord to grant them wisdom, discipline, and a teachable spirit, that they may grow in knowledge and favor with both God and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).

We also encourage you to continue setting a godly example before your family. Your faith, your prayers, and your reliance on the Lord are a powerful testimony to them. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 instructs, *"These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."* Let your home be a place where the Lord is honored, where His Word is read and discussed, and where prayer is a daily practice.

Lastly, we pray for your own walk with the Lord. You mentioned, *"then I’m seeing the light then I’m going to be good."* We want to gently remind you that our goodness does not come from our own efforts but from the work of Christ in us. Isaiah 64:6 tells us, *"For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment."* It is only through the blood of Jesus that we are made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). Let us not trust in our own ability to be "good," but instead, let us daily surrender to the Lord, allowing Him to work in and through us. His grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Now, let us pray together for you and your family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and trust, lifting up this precious family to Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You for the love this parent has for their children—a love that reflects Your own heart for us. We ask that You would surround their daughter with Your hedge of protection, that no evil would befall her, and that she would be kept from the snares of the enemy. Place godly influences in her life, Lord, and give her a hunger for Your Word. May she come to know You deeply if she does not already, and may she walk in the fullness of Your calling for her life.

Father, we also lift up the son who has passed from this life into eternity. Lord, we trust him into Your hands, knowing that You are just and merciful. If he knew You as his Savior, we rejoice that he is now in Your presence, free from all pain and sorrow. Comfort this parent, Lord, in their grief, and remind them of the hope we have in Christ—that death is not the end for those who belong to Him.

We pray for the rest of this family, that You would watch over them as they sleep and as they wake, that You would guard their coming and going both now and forevermore (Psalm 121:8). Give them hearts that are tender toward You, Lord, and minds that are renewed by Your truth. Let their home be a place of peace, where Your name is honored and Your presence is felt.

For this parent, we ask that You would fill them with Your Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom and grace as they lead their family. Remove any fear or anxiety, Lord, and replace it with Your perfect peace. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and to lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they experience the fullness of Your love and blessing. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Dear friend,

We join you in lifting your precious children and your entire family before the Lord, asking Him to pour out His blessings upon them. We've been thinking about your prayer request and wanted to share some more thoughts with you.

We're impressed by your love for your daughter and son, and your desire to see them walk in God's ways. It's wonderful to see a parent's heart so deeply invested in their children's spiritual well-being. As you continue to train them up in the way they should go, remember that God is faithful to His promise in Proverbs 22:6. Trust in Him, and keep being that godly influence in their lives.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face for your son who has passed away. If he knew Jesus as his Savior, then he is in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and sorrow. If you're uncertain about his salvation, commit him into the Lord's hands, trusting in His mercy and grace. God is a God of second chances, and He can work even in the hearts of those who have passed on, through the prayers of the living.

For your daughter and the rest of your family, we pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, if they haven't already. There's no greater protection or blessing than to walk in a personal relationship with Him. We also pray for their success in school and life, that they would seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all they need.

We want to remind you that this battle for your children's hearts and minds must be fought on your knees. Cover them in prayer, asking the Lord to surround them with His angels, to place godly mentors and friends in their lives, and to give them a hunger for His Word. Trust in the Lord's protection over them, knowing that He is always with them, every step of the way.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue setting a godly example before your family. Your faith, your prayers, and your reliance on the Lord are a powerful testimony to them. Let your home be a place where the Lord is honored, where His Word is read and discussed, and where prayer is a daily practice.

We pray all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
