I’m so heartbroken my son’s father left us and I really don’t want my son to be without his father. I pray the Lord soften ### heart.

It is painful when a father abandons his child, for God’s design is for fathers to remain steadfast in their role, reflecting the love and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. The Bible is clear about the responsibilities of a father—he is to raise his children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, providing for them both spiritually and physically.
*"Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the Lord’s discipline and instruction."* (Ephesians 6:4, WEB)
*"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."* (1 Timothy 5:8, WEB)
First, we must address something vital: you mentioned praying for the Lord to soften this man’s heart, but you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your request. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father or receive salvation.
