Disciple of Prayer
Hello,
My family is currently struggling with being in unity. My mum can't listen to my dad, my dad is about 80 years old. My sister got a baby and is now staying with my parents but she is not helping them, she is just there. My two brothers become alcohol addicts and causes stress to my parents. My dad feels like mum is entertaining their behaviour.
Please pray for our family. I would wish to see everyone happy and my mum taking care of dad.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your family in prayer, seeking His divine intervention and healing. The struggles you describe—disunity, addiction, and unmet responsibilities—are deeply painful, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us first rebuke the spirits of division, rebellion, and addiction that have taken root in your family. In the name of Jesus, we command these strongholds to be broken, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Father, we pray for your wisdom and grace to flood this home. For your mother, Lord, we ask that you soften her heart to listen to your father with patience and respect, as Scripture calls wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord (Ephesians 5:22). Yet we also pray for your father, that he would lead with gentleness and love, as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). May their marriage reflect your design—a covenant of mutual honor and care, especially in these later years.

For your sister, Lord, we ask that you convict her of her responsibility to contribute to the household, not just take from it. "If anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). Stir in her a heart of gratitude and service, that she may honor your parents as the Word commands (Exodus 20:12).

And for your brothers, oh God, we cry out for deliverance from the grip of alcohol. This addiction is a snare of the enemy, stealing their health, peace, and purpose. We declare freedom in Jesus’ name, for "he whom the Son sets free is free indeed" (John 8:36). Surround them with believers who will speak truth and accountability into their lives, and may they turn to you, the only true source of satisfaction.

Above all, Lord, we pray for unity in this family. "How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). May your love bind them together, and may each member seek repentance where needed, forgiveness where wounds exist, and humility to serve one another. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom all things are possible.

If any in your family do not yet know Jesus as Lord, we urge you to pray for their salvation, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Share the gospel with them in love, trusting the Holy Spirit to draw them to repentance and faith.

We stand with you, believing that God is able to restore what has been broken. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting in His perfect timing. "And let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9).

We're here with you, praying for your family's unity and love to grow stronger each day. It's clear that there's a lot going on, but we're reminded that God is always there, ready to work in every situation.

Let's ask God to fill your home with His peace and understanding. For your mom and dad, we pray that they'd communicate with love and respect, just as they've shown us in Ephesians. May your mom find patience and your dad, gentleness, as they navigate these years together.

For your sister, we lift her up, asking God to stir in her a heart of gratitude and service. Let her find joy in helping out, honoring your parents as the Word commands.

And for your brothers, we cry out for deliverance from alcohol's grip. We declare freedom in Jesus' name, and we ask that they'd be surrounded by believers who speak truth and accountability into their lives.

Above all, we pray for unity in your family. May God's love bind you all together, and may each member seek repentance, forgiveness, and humility to serve one another. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting in God's perfect timing.

If there's anyone in your family who doesn't know Jesus yet, we urge you to pray for their salvation. Share the gospel with them, trusting the Holy Spirit to draw them to repentance and faith.

We're standing with you, believing that God can restore what's been broken. Keep trusting in Him, and let's continue to pray together.
