Disciple of Prayer
I pray someone reading this will recall my prior posts. I am recovering from being poisoned by mistake by my doctor causing muscular damage and brain damage, & nerve damage, prostate cancer, lymphedema, hernia repair, torn repair, damaged teeth and gums from gnashing my teeth in pain, and snake bite in the course of a year. Through all of this I have seen the Lord's hand mightily at work. When I was lying in bed recovering from the brain damage and the fear of what looked to be possibly terminal cancer, He gave me a verse I knew to be a word from Him that I would be exalted over the cancer. All treatment and recovery have confounded the attending physicians, I appear to be years ahead of schedule in being considered cancer free. The Lord lifted me to a higher faith. Now the adversary is attacking us. My illnesses have brought us to near financial destruction, my wife who has tried so hard to hold our home & 2 little boys together while I languished is worn down, her extended family is falling apart as my wife's grandfather is dying and her mom is lashing out, speaking poorly of my wife, as her abilities as a mother and homemaker and speaking poorly of our children leaving my wife hurting and angry, our 6 year old who the Lord has been so active and helping with his AD/HD is now spinning out of control at school, my heart is now consumed with fear. My wife and I see our roles, we are dedicated to our family and pointing our eyes firmly on the Lord but Satan is pulling out all the stops, we get bad news or bad treatment every day. Please pray for our strength, courage, faith, direction, discernment, unity, employment for me, protection for us both. We are hurting and struggling but we know we have the Lord, please encourage us. Bless you.

We hear your cry, and our hearts break with yours as we stand with you in this fierce spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that you and your family may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your testimony of God’s faithfulness in the midst of such overwhelming trials is a powerful witness to His sovereignty. Even now, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), though the path is painful.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken root in your heart. Scripture commands us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The fear you feel is not from the Lord—it is a tactic of the enemy to paralyze you and distract you from the victory already secured in Christ. We take authority over this spirit in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. You are not abandoned; you are not forsaken. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Your wife’s suffering and the attacks from her family are deeply grievous. The enemy seeks to divide, to plant seeds of bitterness, and to undermine the godly order of your home. But we declare that your marriage is a covenant before God, and no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for your wife—that the Lord would be her shield and exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1), that He would bind up her broken heart and pour His peace into her spirit. May she find her strength in Him alone, not in the approval of others. We also pray for her extended family, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of God’s love and that any generational strongholds of strife or division would be broken in Jesus’ name.

For your son, we cry out to the Father, who knows the needs of His children even before we ask (Matthew 6:8). The enemy seeks to exploit his struggles, but we declare that the Lord has not given him a spirit of fear or confusion. We pray for supernatural intervention in his life—that the Holy Spirit would calm his mind, sharpen his focus, and fill him with a peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). May his teachers and caregivers be instruments of God’s grace, and may he grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).

Your financial burdens are heavy, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and who promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray for divine provision—open doors for employment that align with your abilities and recovery, favor with potential employers, and creative solutions to your financial struggles. The Lord is your provider (Jehovah Jireh), and He will not forsake you.

We also must address the spiritual warfare raging around you. The enemy is relentless, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18)—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Stand firm, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Gather with other believers for prayer and encouragement, for where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).

Your faith in the midst of these trials is a testament to God’s grace. We rejoice with you in the victories—the healing from cancer, the progress in your recovery, the moments where God’s presence has been undeniable. But we also grieve with you in the ongoing battles. Know this: the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He will not leave you comfortless.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family under siege. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of Your children. We thank You for the testimony of Your faithfulness in their lives—how You have sustained them through poison, cancer, and every other attack. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of this dear brother’s heart. We command it to leave in the name of Jesus and declare that he is filled with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and remind him that You have not given him a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control.

For his wife, we ask that You would be her refuge and strength. Comfort her in the midst of the hurtful words from her family, and let her find her identity and worth in You alone. Heal the wounds in her heart, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Give her the endurance to run this race with perseverance, fixing her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2).

For their children, especially their son who is struggling, we pray for Your divine intervention. Calm his mind, Lord, and help him to focus. Surround him with godly influences and teachers who will speak life into him. Let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a plan and purpose for his life.

Father, we ask for financial breakthrough. Open doors for employment that will provide for their needs and restore their hope. Let Your provision be so evident that they cannot help but give You the glory. Break the chains of lack and debt, Lord, and let them experience Your abundance.

We also pray for unity in their marriage. Let them be of one mind, one spirit, and one purpose, standing firm against the schemes of the enemy. Remind them that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12), and You are the third strand in their marriage.

Lord, we ask for discernment for this family. Let them recognize the enemy’s tactics and stand firm in the truth of Your Word. Give them wisdom to navigate these trials and the courage to resist the devil at every turn.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would be glorified through their lives. Let their testimony be a light to others who are walking through dark valleys. Remind them that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in them (Romans 8:18). Fill them with hope, joy, and peace as they trust in You.

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother, you are not alone in this fight. The Lord has heard your cry, and He is moving on your behalf. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, for He is your deliverer. The enemy may have come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus has come to give you life—and life more abundantly. Stand firm in the faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). We are standing with you, praying with you, and believing with you for breakthrough. The battle belongs to the Lord!

We're here with you, dear friend, as you face this storm. We see your strength, your faith, and your love for your family. We're reminded of the verse, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). He sees you, He hears you, and He is with you.

We want to encourage you with these words from the Lord, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). The enemy wants to fill you with fear, but God wants to fill you with His perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We're praying for your wife, for her heart to be bound up, for her to find her strength and identity in the Lord alone. We're praying for your son, for the Lord to calm his mind, sharpen his focus, and fill him with peace. We're praying for financial breakthrough, for open doors of employment, and for the Lord to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Remember, the battle is the Lord's. He fights for you. He is your shield, your strength, and your song (Exodus 15:2). Keep your eyes on Him, trust in Him, and stand firm in your faith. You are not alone. We are standing with you, praying with you, and believing with you for your breakthrough.

Blessings to you and your family.
