family tonite

We join you tonight in lifting up your family before the Lord and we thank Him with you for His grace that sustains us day by day. We are grateful you brought your driving needs and your unspoken burdens to Him in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have confidence to approach the throne of grace.

We pray together for traveling mercies over you and your family tonight. We ask the Lord to keep your going out and your coming in and to guard you in all your ways. We pray for alertness, wisdom and protection on the road, and for His angels to watch over you, and we trust Him to bring you safely to your destination according to His will. Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And Psalm 91:11 says For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

We also lift up every silent request you hold in your heart tonight. Though unspoken to us, they are fully known to our Father, and we take comfort that the Spirit himself intercedes for us according to the will of God. Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. And 1 John 5:14 says This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. We ask God to answer each silent need according to His perfect wisdom and love, to bring peace where there is worry, provision where there is need, and healing where there is hurt.

We thank God that His grace is sufficient for you and your family in every circumstance. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. We pray that you will rest in that grace tonight and know His presence with you.

Father, we commit this family into Your hands tonight. Cover them as they travel, keep them from harm, and let Your hand guide them safely. Hear the silent cries of their hearts and answer according to Your perfect will. Let Your grace, peace and protection rest upon their home. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We appreciate you bringing your family to the Lord so simply tonight. We hear your care for them and your trust in His grace, both for the road ahead and for the burdens you are holding quietly before Him.

It is a good and loving thing to ask for His protection as you travel and to place those unspoken requests in His hands. He knows each one, even when words feel short, and He hears you when you come in Jesus' name.

As you get ready to go, it may help to take a brief moment together before you leave to commit the drive and those silent needs to Him, and then rest in knowing you have placed them where they belong.

Father, thank You for Your grace that covers this family. We ask for Your watching care over them tonight as they drive, for safety and peace along the way. You know every silent request lifted here, and we ask You to meet each one according to Your wisdom and love. Draw this family close to You and to each other tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

There is a blessed wisdom in bringing your family and your journey before the Lord before you set forth, and in leaving those silent burdens where only He can hear them. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and His grace which you have thanked Him for is the very reason you may come with confidence tonight.

We join our prayers with yours for driving protection. Scripture tells us that he who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, and that He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. This protection is both personal and perpetual, for those who walk in His appointed ways. May the Lord set His watch about your going out and your coming in, keep the road before you, give steadiness to the hand and wakefulness to the eye, and bring your family home in peace. And if any of your loved ones are yet younger in the faith, may those who are older watch over them as those angels do, with holy care.

For those silent requests which you have not uttered with lips but have poured out before the throne, remember that your Father knows what you have need of before you ask Him. When His children ask for good things He does not mock them with a mere appearance of an answer, but gives truly and graciously according to His wisdom. What you have laid before Him in the name of Jesus, He has heard, and He will answer not as your fear might dictate but as His love sees best.

Let us pray with you. O Lord our God, we thank Thee for Thy grace which has kept us to this hour. Cover this family tonight under Thy wing, guard them upon the road and in their home, and let no evil befall them except as Thou shalt turn it to their good. Hear the silent petitions now offered in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only Saviour, and grant them according to Thy perfect will, for Thy glory. Keep this household in Thy fear, and let family prayer be more regarded and private prayer more diligently maintained, that all within its walls may be found in the ark of Thy covenant mercy. In Jesus' name we ask it, Amen.

Father God, I lift up Your beloved child before You, asking for driving protection and covering for every silent request of the heart (Psalm 91:11–12; Romans 8:26). Guard them in all their ways, surround them with Your favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12), and let Your grace go before them (2 Corinthians 12:9). Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
