Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire for family restoration and the hope of a new future, especially with the gift of a new baby, touches on something God deeply cares about. He created the family, and children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from His hand. That little life is a living reminder that He is always bringing forth something new and fresh, like shoots springing up from an old root.
But the deepest restoration God has for you is not just an outward mending of relationships, but being brought into His own family. Through faith in Jesus Christ, you enter into a new covenant, not based on your ability to keep rules perfectly, but on what He has already done for you. All the spiritual blessings God longs to pour out, forgiveness, adoption as His child, an eternal inheritance, come to you in Christ. You become a new creation, part of a whole new race where every believer stands together regardless of background. Your primary identity is now a son or daughter in the household of God.
It is right to ask for miracles and blessings, but let your faith rest on something more solid than spectacular signs. Jesus did many miracles, and crowds believed because of what they saw, yet He did not entrust Himself to them because their trust was built on the dramatic rather than on the word of God Himself. The surest ground you can stand on is the promise He has already spoken: that in Christ, He is for you, and nothing can disannul the blessing He purposes over your life. Often the most excellent way is not the constant working of visible wonders, but the quiet, growing fellowship with the Lord where you learn to trust Him day by day.
That new baby is a sign of life, hope, and the future. As you look at that child, remember that God’s ultimate project is a whole new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells and every tear is wiped away. Until then, the family of God is being gathered and renewed. Bow your knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, and ask Him to strengthen you with might through His Spirit in your inner being. He is able to do more than you ask or imagine, not because you have earned it, but because He has bound Himself to you in Jesus. Trust His timing. The blessings that overtake you are not the fragile rewards of your own goodness but the steadfast promises of a God who never changes.
