Your prayer has been received with care and with sorrow for the long burden you and your family have carried. Thank you for bringing this openly before the Lord and before His people. The exhaustion, division and pain you describe from this entanglement affecting your older daughter is real, and your desire to see your children protected, at peace, and walking in the truth of Scripture is good and right.

I join you in asking God for His protection over you, your children, and your home. We do not ask Him to bless what is outside His design, for Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that sexual intimacy and living together belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. To treat living together outside of marriage as if it were marriage opens the door, as you have rightly seen, to deception, manipulation, financial hardship and spiritual bondage. Therefore we do not ask God to affirm or strengthen that arrangement. We ask Him to bring light, conviction, repentance and freedom.

I pray that the Lord would guard your older daughter and gently open her eyes. May she see that this young man is not her husband and has no authority of a husband, father or head of home over her, and that the false sense of obligation and commitment she feels is not from the Lord. May God remind her that she is a child of the Most High, that she has a loving family who raised her in His ways, and that she does not need to earn the approval of this young man or his mother by dishonoring her parents, her work or her faith. I pray that any hold of control, pride, manipulation and ungodly counsel would be broken, and that she would hunger again for righteousness, return to fellowship with her church family, honor her parents as Scripture commands, and steward well the purposeful work God has given her.

For you as her mother, take courage. Just as Christ said to the woman who came in faith, Daughter, be of good cheer, your faith has made you whole, so your faithful, persistent prayer for your daughter matters greatly before God. A mother’s faith, like the Canaanite woman who pleaded for her daughter, contributes much as we bring our children to Christ and He is able to make whole what has been wounded. God has promised deliverance from evil and adoption as sons and daughters through Christ alone. He has not always promised immediate removal of every trial, but He does promise to give strength to despise the fear of trial, to guard the heart with peace that surpasses understanding, and to keep those who trust Him.

I also pray for your younger daughter, that the Lord would place a hedge of protection around her heart, her studies, her health and her faith. May she remain steadfast, humble and thankful, surrounded by godly friendships and mentors, and may she never be swayed to see cohabitation as acceptable. May she wait for and seek a spouse, if the Lord wills marriage for her, who is truly a husband and protector, a man of piety, gentleness, understanding and the fear of God, rather than wealth or outward show. Pray and commit this matter into Christ’s hands, for He delights to provide what is best.

For your son, I pray the Lord would shine His light in every dark place, grant him peace, joy and the ability to express his needs in godly ways, and let him always know he is deeply loved, valued and included, never a burden. May the Lord rebuke every word of mockery or hatred directed at him and restore the loving bond he shared with his sister. May He anoint your home, every room and every step you take, and grant wisdom to you, caregivers, doctors and all who help care for him.

For you, I pray for strength and discernment when you feel weighed down beyond your power. The enemy seeks to wear you down with worry and fear, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. May the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and may the Lord frustrate every scheme to divide and isolate your family. May He expose what is harmful, block ungodly influence from having authority in your children’s lives, and bring unity, joy and fellowship back to your home. I pray for financial provision not for selfish gain but that your household may continue to be a testimony of His care.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus our Savior and Redeemer, place Your hand of protection over this mother and her children. Cover them with the blood of Christ, clothe them with Your full armor, surround them with Your holy angels, and fill their home with Your light. Lead the older daughter out of this toxic and ungodly entanglement into freedom, stability and wisdom. Keep the younger daughter and son safe from harm and deception. Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and draw this whole family closer to Yourself and to one another. Amen.
