Your heart has been carrying a heavy burden for a long time, and the exhaustion, division and pain you describe are real. It is deeply hurtful to watch a daughter who was gracious, humble, thankful and faithful begin to reflect attitudes of disrespect and ingratitude, to see her distance herself from family and faith to please others, and to see that influence reaching toward your younger daughter and your son. God sees what you are enduring and He hears your cries for protection, peace and restoration.

Scripture teaches that God Himself puts a protection around His people. As with Job, there is a hedge that the enemy cannot cross without permission, and He gives His angels charge over those who belong to Him. You are right to ask for that hedge, for the covering of the blood of Jesus, and for the full armor of God to guard your home. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, is promised to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and it is that peace you can keep seeking for yourself and your children, not as a feeling that depends on circumstances, but as a guard that comes from trusting Him.

For your older daughter, the most loving prayer is not that God would bless the situation she is in, but that He would gently open her eyes and lead her out of it. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that living together and sharing the intimacies of marriage outside of that covenant is not marriage at all. When a relationship is treated as if it were marriage without the covenant, it opens the door to deception, manipulation, financial exploitation and spiritual bondage. It creates a false sense of obligation and commitment that God never placed on her. She is not without a home, without a family, or without a Father in heaven. She does not need to come under the authority of a boyfriend or his mother, to change her faith to please them, or to carry a burden of providing for a man who is not her husband. Pray that she will see clearly that this young man is not her husband, not her father, and not the one to direct her future, and that she will remember she is a child of the Most High God who has already provided a loving family and a purposeful work for her. Just as God called Jacob to return to the land of his fathers and to his family with the promise, I will be with you, pray that your daughter will hear the call to return to the Lord first, to the faith in which she was raised, and to the fellowship of believers who will encourage her in righteousness.

The influence you describe from this young man and his mother, urging living together and even having children before marriage, encouraging disrespect toward you and toward biblical teaching, and seeking loyalty that belongs only to God and to family, is not wise or godly counsel. It is rooted in pride and selfishness and its fruit is division, isolation and jealousy. You can pray with confidence that the Lord will frustrate every scheme to divide and isolate your family, that He will expose what is harmful, and that He will block what seeks to corrupt. This does not mean praying with hatred, but asking God in His mercy to stop what is destructive and to turn hearts toward truth.

For your younger daughter, continue to pray the hedge of protection you have asked for. She is at a stage where examples matter greatly. Lot was able to survive in a corrupt environment because of his early foundation, yet living continually in the midst of that corruption cost his family dearly in their morals and choices. Pray that your younger daughter will remain steadfast, that she will stay humble, honor her parents, be thankful, and be surrounded by godly friendships and mentors who love the Lord. Pray that she will never come to see living together outside of marriage as acceptable, but will wait for a spouse who honors God and values the sanctity of marriage, and that her studies, health and faith will be guarded.

For your son, your prayers are beautiful. His life is precious and deeply loved by God, never a burden or embarrassment. Pray that the Lord will shine His light into every dark place, grant him peace and joy, give him patience and help him use the language God has given him to express his needs in a godly manner, and restore the sweet fellowship he once shared with his sister. Pray also for wisdom for you, for caregivers and for all who help him, that you may daily bring out the best in him.

For yourself, keep bringing your weariness to the Lord. The enemy seeks to wear you down with worry and fear, but the Lord fights for you. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and no weapon formed against you shall finally prosper. Bring your financial needs to Him as well, trusting His promise to supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus, not for selfish gain but so your family may continue to be a blessing and a testimony of His provision. Keep praying for godly spouses for your daughters in the Lord's timing, men who will love as Christ loves the church and lead in righteousness.

May the Lord anoint your home, every room and every corner, with His presence. May He restore what has been strained and broken, heal what has been wounded, and mend unity, joy and fellowship among you. May He fill you with the Holy Spirit, remove darkness from your path, and make you a beacon of His light wherever you go.

A prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our Savior and Redeemer, we ask for Your mercy and intervention. Place Your hedge of protection and the ministry of Your angels around this mother and her children, cover them with the full armor of God. Guard their hearts and minds with Your peace. Open the eyes of the older daughter to see the truth about this relationship, break every false obligation and stubborn chain, and gently lead her out of this entanglement into freedom, stability and wisdom. Turn her heart back to You, to honoring her parents, to her work and to walking in Your ways. Frustrate every plan to divide, isolate and corrupt this family. Protect the younger daughter and the son, keep them from harmful influence, surround them with godly encouragement, and let their lives shine for You. Grant this mother strength, wisdom, discernment and provision, and restore the years that have been marked by chaos and sorrow. We trust You to fight for this family and to bring healing by Your grace. Amen.
