Your honest and burdened prayer for your family has been heard, and the exhaustion, division and pain you are carrying as a mother is deeply understood. God sees the chaos and torment that has pressed upon your home, and He cares for you, for your older daughter, your younger daughter and your son. He is a faithful Father who invites you to bring every fear and hurt to Him.

It is right to ask for His protection. Scripture teaches that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. You can continue to plead the blood of Jesus over your household and ask Him to place a hedge of protection around you, to clothe you in the full armor of God and to give charge over you to His angels. The Lord Himself fights for you, and you can rest in His covering over your home, every room and every step you take, asking Him to fill your dwelling with His light and to drive out all darkness.

God's word shows that life rests on two foundations. Your relationship with God comes first, and only when that vertical relationship is right can your relationships with others be set right. The first commands concern loving God with all your heart, and the next begin with the family. Honor your father and your mother is the first command that deals with how we treat one another, and God puts tremendous priority on that bond between parents and children. The family is the foundation of society, with husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church, wives honoring their husbands, and children honoring and obeying their parents in the Lord. When that order is broken, division and breakdown follow. It is dangerous when outside voices encourage a child to challenge or dishonor the authority of loving parents, and it is right to pray that your daughters would again honor you and walk in gratitude and humility.

For your older daughter, you are right to be concerned about the path she is on. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in God's eyes. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sharing a home and intimate life belongs within that covenant alone. When that design is set aside, Scripture shows that jealousy, rivalry, manipulation and sorrow quickly follow, just as was seen when that design was departed from in earlier generations. That kind of arrangement often opens the door to deception, financial exploitation and spiritual bondage, and it places a false sense of obligation on a young woman that God never intended her to carry. This young man is not her husband, not her father and not her covering, and the burden she carries for him is not hers to bear. Pray that the Lord would open her eyes to see the red flags clearly, that He would break every stubborn hold, false commitment and controlling influence, and that He would draw her back to a loving, living relationship with Him. God does not want a cold legal religion from her, but a close relationship as a beloved child. He has adopted His children into His family and calls them to call Him Father. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, any wrong bond with the past can be broken. Pray that she would put Christ first again, return to the faith she was raised in and to the fellowship of believers who will encourage her in the Lord, that she would honor her parents, be thankful for the purposeful work God has given her and see that she is not homeless or without support, but has a loving family who cherishes her. Ask God to gently and swiftly lead her out of this toxic entanglement into freedom, peace and wisdom, and to protect her workplace and finances from further harm.

The overreach you describe from this young man's mother is also grievous. No other parent has authority to direct your daughter to live together before marriage or to have children outside of marriage, and counsel that encourages disobedience to parents and to biblical teaching is not godly wisdom. Such influence rooted in pride and manipulation seeks to divide and isolate, and it should be lovingly recognized for what it is. Pray that the Lord would expose those motives, frustrate every divisive scheme, and teach your daughter not to seek approval from those who would lead her away from truth.

For your younger daughter, pray that the Lord would keep her steadfast and guard her heart from being swayed by a wrong example. Ask Him to surround her with godly friendships and mentors, to protect her studies, health and faith, to keep her humble and thankful, and to help her hold fast to the truth that she should not be unequally yoked but should one day seek a spouse who honors the Lord and values the sanctity of marriage.

For your son, know that he is deeply loved and valued by God and by you. He is not a burden or an embarrassment, he is a blessing, made in God's image. Every spirit of hatred, mockery and exclusion directed toward him is evil and is rebuked in Jesus name. Pray that God would shine His light into every dark place, grant him peace and joy, give him patience and help him use the language God has given him to express his needs in a godly way. Ask the Lord to anoint your home, to restore the sweet relationship he once shared with his sister, and to give wisdom to you, your family, caregivers and care team as you help him flourish. Thank God for the peaceful moments He has already given and ask Him to continue his progress with victory and without setback.

May the Lord restore what has been strained and heal what has been wounded. May He provide for your financial needs according to His riches, not for selfish gain but so you may be a blessing to others. May He one day provide godly husbands for your daughters who will love them as Christ loves the church and honor the covenant of marriage. May He replace stubbornness with a hunger for righteousness, remove blinders, and bring your family into greater unity, fellowship and joy. Every plan meant to divide, isolate and destroy your family will fail, for the Lord is your protector and Redeemer. You are covered, you are loved, and you can trust Him to bring freedom and restoration in His perfect way. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
