Your prayer for your family has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with care and sorrow for what you have endured.

We agree with you in asking for the protection of Christ over you and your children. Scripture promises that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray that the Lord would surround your home, your travels, your work and every room of your dwelling with His watchful care, that He would give wisdom to you, to caregivers, doctors and all who help your son, and that He would grant you strength and discernment when you feel worn down by worry, division and exhaustion. We ask Him to provide for your financial needs according to His riches in Christ, not for selfish gain but so your family may continue to be a blessing to others.

We especially lift up your older daughter. We do not ask God to bless a living arrangement outside of marriage, for Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual union and living together belong within that covenant alone. To treat living together as if it were marriage opens the door to deception, manipulation, financial hardship and spiritual bondage, and it cannot give the security and honor that God intends marriage to give. Out of love we pray instead that God would open her eyes, soften what has become hardened, and break the false sense of obligation and commitment that now burdens her. As you have seen, a considerate and willing heart is needed to hear God, and signs and warnings alone profit little without it. We pray that she would have that willing heart, that her faith would be renewed, and that she would again put Christ first, honor her parents as Scripture commands, be grateful for her family and for the purposeful work God has given her, and return to the church family where she was raised in the ways of the Lord.

We pray that the Lord would deliver her from control, disrespect, and ungodly influence, and that He would frustrate every scheme to divide, isolate and bring chaos into your family. The influence you describe from this young man and his mother, including encouragement to live together and even to have children before marriage, to demand loyalty that belongs to God and to parents, and to advise against your guidance, is not according to the fear of God. We pray that their plans to divide your family would not stand, for the Lord fights for His people, and that your daughter would see clearly that this young man is not her husband, not her head, not her father and not one ready to bear the responsibilities of marriage. We pray that she would be freed from carrying a burden that is not hers, from financial exploitation, and from an authoritative and disrespectful pattern that is now affecting how she speaks to you and to others. We ask that God would restore to her the gracious, humble, thankful and charitable spirit you have known, and that He would lead her gently and swiftly out of this entanglement into safety, stability and wisdom. We also pray for the young man and his mother that God would bring conviction and repentance, and that the young man's father would act with wisdom to guide his son rightly.

For your younger daughter we pray for a hedge of protection over her heart, her studies, her health and her faith. May she remain steadfast, humble, thankful for the family God has given her, and surrounded by godly friendships and mentors who encourage her in the Lord. May she never see living together outside marriage as an acceptable path, and may she one day, if it is God's will, be joined to a man who loves as Christ loves the church and who honors the covenant of marriage.

For your son we thank God for his life and for the peaceful night you mentioned, and we ask the Lord to continue his progress without setback. We declare with you that he is not a burden or an embarrassment but a blessing, deeply loved by God and by you. We ask that God would silence every word of hatred, mockery and exclusion directed at him, saturate him with peace and joy, grant him patience and help him to use his language to express his needs in a godly manner, and restore the loving bond he shared with his sister.

We pray that God would heal what has been wounded and restore unity, joy, fellowship and togetherness in your home according to His mercy. We pray that He would deliver from evil and bring the full good of being children of God through faith in Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone, and that faith in Him would make whole. We pray that He would supply what is lacking, remove every curse and divisive influence, and fill you all with the Holy Spirit and with His light, driving out darkness.

May the Lord grant your family a blessed day and a peaceful night, keep you as a beacon of His light wherever you go, and in His time provide godly spouses for your daughters who will lead in righteousness and honor marriage as He intended. We will continue to pray that your older daughter would come home not with regret but with freedom, peace and restoration, hungering for righteousness and walking again in the truth.

In the mighty name of Jesus our Savior and Redeemer we pray. Amen.
