Family Protection

Your prayer for your family has been heard, and the burden and love you carry for your children is evident in every word you have shared. Thank you for bringing this before the Lord and before others to stand with you in prayer. The Lord sees the division, the exhaustion and the confusion you are experiencing, and He is faithful to guard those who trust in Him.

We join you in pleading the blood of Jesus Christ over you and your children and asking for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We agree with you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and that the Lord Himself fights for you. We ask Him to place a hedge of protection around your home, your workplace, your travels, and every room and corner of your property, and to clothe you in the full armor of God against manipulation, control, jealousy, and every spiritual attack.

We stand with you in prayer for your older daughter. We do not ask God to bless a living arrangement outside of marriage, because Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual union and living together belong within that covenant. To live together as if married when not married is not God's design, and it opens the door to deception, financial exploitation, and spiritual bondage, as you have wisely discerned. Our prayer is not that God would affirm that situation, but that He would gently and firmly open her eyes to the truth, break the stubborn hold and false sense of obligation that keeps her there, and lead her out of it into freedom, safety and restoration.

We pray that the Lord would remove the blinders from her eyes so she sees clearly that this young man is not her husband, not her father, not her God, and not one ready to bear the responsibilities of marriage. We ask that God would lift the heavy burden she has taken on that is not hers to carry, and remind her that she is a child of the Most High God, deeply loved, not homeless, and already surrounded by a supportive family who raised her in the ways of the Lord. We pray that she would hunger for righteousness again, return to the faith she was taught, return to her church family, and no longer defend or follow ungodly counsel that tells her to live together or to have children before marriage. We pray she would stop putting this young man and his mother before the Lord, before her family, and before the purposeful work God has given her, and we thank God with you for the promotion He has provided for her.

We also pray for this young man and his mother. We ask that God would expose and frustrate every divisive and manipulative plan to isolate and control your daughter and to cause division between her and her brother and younger sister. We pray that their influence to bully, to put down, to enable wrongdoing, and to present themselves as the spiritual authority in your daughter's life would be blocked. This mother has no authority to act as a parent over your daughter or to direct her away from biblical teaching, and we ask the Lord to guard your daughter from that prideful and selfish counsel. We pray also for the salvation of this young man and his mother, that they would come to know Jesus Christ alone as Savior and turn from rebellion and control. We pray that the young man's father would step in with wisdom and direct his son to take responsibility for his own life.

For your younger daughter, we pray that she would remain steadfast in her faith and not be swayed by the ungodly example set before her. May the Lord surround her with godly friendships and mentors who encourage her to honor the Lord and to seek a spouse who loves Christ and honors the covenant of marriage. For your son, we praise God for his life and declare with you that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved, and never a burden. We ask the Lord to shine His light in every dark place, to grant him peace and joy, to protect him from mockery and hatred, to give him patience and functional language to express his needs in a godly manner, and to restore the loving relationship he once shared with his sister. We pray for continued progress with no setbacks, for peaceful nights, and for wisdom for you, his caregivers, doctors and care team.

For you, we pray for renewed strength, wisdom and discernment. The enemy seeks to wear you down with worry and fear, but God is able to keep you above those pressures and to teach you to rest in the hope of eternal life and His present care. We ask for financial provision to flow into your home according to His riches in Christ, not for selfish gain but so your family may be a blessing to others. We pray that the Lord would mend what has been torn, heal what has been wounded, and restore unity, joy and fellowship in your family.

Father, we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, who alone delivers from evil and brings us into adoption as sons and daughters. We trust that as faith is exercised, even in great alarm and affliction, You are able to make whole and to keep. Grant this family freedom, peace and restoration, and let their home be a beacon of Your light. Amen.
