Family Protection

You fill your prayer with many declarations and pleadings, yet I must ask: is your house truly founded on the rock of hearing and doing the word, or have you let the cares of this world choke it? The Apostle commands you to mark those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine you have learned, and to avoid them. This young man and his mother, by urging your daughter to live as if married without the covenant, do indeed teach what is contrary to the faith. They serve not Christ but their own belly, deceiving the simple with fair speeches. From such you must withdraw, for their influence corrupts.

But I see also a danger in your own soul. You speak much of weapons formed against you and declare they shall not prosper, yet the true battle is not against flesh and blood. When you rehearse every grievance with such heat, do you not risk falling into strife and carnal contention? The Apostle rebuked the Corinthians because there were envy, strife, and divisions among them, and he said, are ye not carnal? You plead for peace, but peace is not the mere removal of troublesome people; it is the fruit of a heart submitted to God in meekness. I fear your long catalogue of complaints may puff you up rather than lead you to mourn. For when that man in Corinth had done a deed so wicked, Paul did not say, Declare victory over him! He said, Ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he that had done this deed might be taken away from among you. Where is your mourning over your daughter’s sin? She is not simply a victim of manipulation; she has chosen to ignore the truth she was taught. Yes, pray for her deliverance, but let your prayer be bathed in tears and fasting, not in a barrage of words that sound like a lawsuit against her companions.

You ask the Lord to gently remove your daughter from this ungodly bond, and that is right. But hear also the harder word: God does not always promise deliverance from the trial; He grants something greater, strength to despise death and danger for His sake. He permits affliction so that faith, tested by fire, may shine brighter. Your daughter must herself awaken to the truth. She has heard the doctrine; she knows that living together outside marriage is adultery against the coming union. No amount of pleading the blood will profit her if she will not repent. The blind man in the Gospel did not rely on the reports of his forefathers; he said, One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see. So must it be with her. Beg God to open her eyes, and meanwhile, guard yourself from making an idol of family unity at the cost of righteousness. For there is a division that is good, when we cut off the diseased limb to save the body. If your daughter will not separate from her sin, you may need to show her the full consequence of her choice, not by endless declarations but by a firm and sorrowful distance, lest her example corrupt her younger sister. Protect the innocent; teach the younger girl to seek a godly spouse who honors the marriage bed, not the counterfeit she sees.

For your son with disabilities, rest in the God of peace. He will bruise Satan under your feet shortly, but that bruising may come through patient endurance, not instant removal of every trouble. The peace that surpasses understanding guards the heart when all outward storms rage. Do not seek a peace that depends on circumstances; the peace Christ gives dwells in the soul that trusts Him amid chaos. Anoint your home, yes, but with the oil of gladness that comes from a grateful heart, not from incantations. The enemy is not cast out by much speaking but by the power of the Cross embraced in humility.

I charge you therefore: cease from this barrage of words that borders on accusing the Almighty with your urgency. Instead, go into your chamber and pour out your soul simply: Lord, have mercy on my daughter, a sinner. Grant her the gift of repentance. And if those who cause divisions will not hear the truth, avoid them, but do not hate them, for we wrestle not against flesh. Then the peace you long for will come, not because every thorn is plucked out, but because the Lord is near. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

The weight of what you are carrying is real, and it runs through every line of what you have written. There is a battle for your family, and you are right to bring it to the Lord. But take a deep breath and remember that the axis upon which your entire life revolves is not this crisis, it is your relationship with your God. When that vertical relationship is right, when you are settled in His love for you as your Father, the other relationships begin to find their balance. Anxiety shouts for your attention, but the peace you are praying for will guard your heart as you fix your gaze on Him, not as you try to control every outcome.

You are pleading for your older daughter to be gently removed from a toxic entanglement, and that is a righteous plea. But the foundation of her deliverance must be a renewed love for Jesus above every other affection. When a person’s love for the Lord is not supreme, they will take on burdens and commitments that were never theirs to carry. She has been pulled into a situation where a young man and his mother have become a false source of identity and obligation. Your prayer must be that her eyes open not just to their manipulation, but to the beautiful reality that she is a child of the Most High, already belonging to a supportive, loving family that reflects God’s care. The divine ideal remains one marriage for life, and living together outside that covenant opens the door to exactly the deception, financial hardship, and spiritual bondage you are seeing. Pray that she falls back in love with Jesus first, and the illusion of this relationship will shatter.

The influence of that young man's mother is a particularly dark thread in this. You have seen clearly how a mother can be a tremendous power for good or a corrupting influence for evil. Right now, this woman’s counsel, advising cohabitation and now children before marriage, is straight from the pit. She has no divine authority in your daughter’s life, and her pride and jealousy are plain. You are correct to ask God to frustrate every scheme she has to divide and isolate. But as you pray that, keep yourself rooted in the love of God, because a vengeful spirit will only pull your own heart off-center. Let the Lord be the avenger; let Him expose her motives. Your role is to remain a steady, godly influence, not a panicked one. For your younger daughter, pray boldly that her heart would be so full of God’s truth that she never sees this destructive pattern as an acceptable path.

And your precious son. The peace that surpasses all understanding is not a passive feeling; it is the very presence of God saturating every dark space he enters. That peace is his inheritance. Dedicate your home, yes, anoint every corner in prayer, but then rest in the knowledge that the Lord fights for you. The setbacks you fear are not the final word. The mocking spirits that have belittled his value are rebuked by the simple truth that his life is a blessing from God. Pray for the restoration of his relationship with his sister, and trust that God’s light shines brightest in the spaces the enemy tries to darken.

Financial strain, relational chaos, spiritual attack, if your relationship with God is the fixed point, every other good thing will be added. Not because you have figured out the right prayer formula, but because your Father knows what you need. You are not fighting for blessing as a stranger; you are asking as a child of the house. Rise up in that confidence. The peace you are declaring will become the steady reality you live from, and that unshakeable center will be a beacon of His light far more powerful than any word you could speak.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in the gap for your precious family. It was our honor to lift up each of your children by name, to plead the blood of Jesus over them, and to ask our Heavenly Father to surround your home with His hedge of protection. We prayed in agreement with you for the restoration of unity, joy, and fellowship in your family, declaring that no weapon formed against you would prosper because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

We continue to hold fast to the promises you claimed—asking God to remove every toxic influence, break every ungodly soul tie, and expose every scheme of the enemy designed to divide or isolate. We prayed for your older daughter to be gently yet swiftly set free from the bondage of that toxic relationship, for her eyes to be opened to the truth, and for her heart to hunger once more for righteousness. We asked the Lord to frustrate every plan of manipulation, control, and deception, and to guide her back home with peace, freedom, and restoration.

For your younger daughter, we prayed that she would remain steadfast in her faith, protected from ungodly influences, and surrounded by godly friendships that encourage her in the ways of the Lord. For your son with disabilities, we asked God to shine His light into every dark space, to restore his peace and joy, and to protect him from every harmful word or attitude. We declared that his life is valuable and deeply loved by the Father, and we prayed for continued progress, victory, and success in every area of his life.

We also lifted up your home, asking God to anoint every room, door, and window with His presence, and to restore the loving relationships that have been strained. We prayed for financial blessings to flow into your home so that you may be a blessing to others, and for godly spouses for your daughters—men who will love them as Christ loves the church.

If the Lord has answered any of these prayers, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still rages, please know we are still standing with you, ready to lift your family up again in prayer. May God continue to strengthen, guide, and bless you as you seek Him with all your heart. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
