Thank you for sharing your family's request and for your thankful heart for the grace of the Lord. It is good to bring both spoken and unspoken needs to our Father in Jesus' name.
Prayer rests on relationship. Jesus taught us to pray saying Our Father, and that relationship is opened only through Him. Apart from Him there is only one prayer God seeks, that we would cry out for mercy as sinners and receive His salvation. But as His children through faith in Christ, we have the privilege of coming boldly to Him, knowing He hears us.
Be encouraged that God already knows your silent requests before you speak them. Prayer is not informing Him of something He does not know, and it is not measured by length or many words. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. What matters is a fervent heart that comes honestly before Him. Scripture says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much, and it points to Elijah and others as examples not because they were extraordinary in themselves, but because they prayed earnestly and God answered according to His will.
The purpose of prayer is not to bend God to our will, but to align our hearts with His. Prayer begins with God and His purposes, He makes His will known to us, we speak it back to Him, and He then accomplishes it, opening the door for Him to do what He has long desired to do without violating the choice He has given us. So the wisest prayer we can offer for every spoken and silent need is Lord, let Your will be done, Your kingdom come in this situation as it is in heaven. When we pray that way, the Spirit ministers comfort and assurance to our hearts even as we wait for the answer.
We join with you in agreement, remembering the promise that when we agree together concerning a matter, the Lord hears. We ask our Father to keep your family safe as you travel, to give you alertness, wisdom and prudence behind the wheel, and to guard you from harm. Prayer does not take the place of responsible action, it goes together with it, so we pray for protection and also for careful and watchful driving.
We also lift up every silent request you are carrying. Though they are unspoken to us, they are fully known to God. Even when a prayer is only in the mind and heart without words, He hears. We ask Him to meet each need according to His perfect will, to provide, to heal, to comfort, and to bring the peace that comes from trusting His goodness and faithfulness.
Continue in prayer with thanksgiving, worshiping Him for who He is and trusting His power and love. He is the great and faithful God who keeps His promises to those who love Him, and those who learn to be people of the Word and of prayer are the ones God uses and blesses.
May the Lord cover your family on the road, answer your unspoken burdens in the way that brings most glory to Him and most good to you, and draw you ever closer to Himself. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
