family prayer

Your prayer of thanks for healing and protection is beautiful, and we join you in giving thanks to God for what He has done and for what He continues to do for your family.

Scripture shows us that Jesus is the same healer revealed throughout the Gospels. He touched the leper, He healed from a distance with a word for the centurion's servant, He lifted Peter's mother in law from her fever, and in the evening multitudes came with sicknesses and spiritual oppression and He brought healing to them. Matthew connects this ministry to the prophecy in Isaiah that He Himself bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and that truth is broad enough to include both our spiritual need for forgiveness and our physical need for healing. When Jesus took the bread and said this is My body broken for you, He was pointing to that complete provision.

We believe strongly that healing is from God and that it is for today. At the same time, the Gospels show that healing does not always come in the same way. Sometimes it was instant, sometimes it was gradual, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes at once and sometimes as the person went on their way. Any true healing process is divine, even the natural processes God has placed within our bodies are His design. He created those processes, so restoration that comes slowly through the body's renewal is no less from His hand than a moment of sudden touch that you can feel in an instant.

There is also mystery here that we humbly acknowledge. We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, and why in some cases like Paul's thorn in the flesh, God allowed the affliction to remain after earnest prayer, answering with sustaining grace instead of removal. That does not mean we stop asking. It means we keep bringing your family before Him with confidence that He is able, that He is compassionate, and that He hears.

We also thank God for the gift of family. He places us in families to care for one another, to bear one another's burdens, and to provide for each other's needs, and He has also made us part of a larger family, the family of God, where we find comfort and belonging wherever we meet those who trust in Christ. Your desire for continued healing and protection reflects that loving responsibility for your own household, which Scripture honors.

So we pray with you that the Lord will continue His healing work in your family, whether that work comes in a moment or step by step, in body, mind and heart, healing even deep wounds and scars within. We ask Him to keep His hand of protection over you, to guide you with wisdom in daily decisions, to help you respond to any adversity with kindness and love, and to let His love prevail in your home. May He strengthen your faith as you trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for every need, and may you know His peace as you rest in His care.
