He has woven us into a much larger family, the household of faith, where brothers and sisters are multiplied a hundredfold. Here, we are bound together not by a duty of vengeance or a blood feud that old honor codes demanded, but by a bond of love and prayer where we carry one another’s burdens.
So pray with confidence. Ask the Lord to shelter your family from every spiritual assault and from the hidden snares of a world often given to darkness. The divine ideal is always life, healing, and a lasting oneness, even though our lives sometimes fall short of that ideal through hardness of heart.
