There is a well known verse where John writes to Gaius and says he wishes that he may prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is a loving wish from one believer to another, not a promise that faith guarantees perfect health. Yet it does show there is a real connection between the soul and the body. What goes on in our hearts and minds can affect our bodies, and walking in truth and peace before the Lord is good for our whole person.
That is also why your concern for your mum regarding her weight and that injection is understandable. Wanting to be healthy is good, and God has given us wise principles for caring for our bodies. He desires our well being and has shown us that simple faithfulness in how we live, eat, rest, and trust Him matters. A treatment that might cause her to lose her hair in order to lose weight sounds worrying, and I join you in praying for wisdom for her doctors and for her as she waits for blood test results. Pray that she would see herself as God sees her, and that she would be able to be satisfied and at peace within the healthy boundaries God has given for our bodies, rather than chasing a quick fix that could bring harm.
