We join with you in bringing all of these burdens before our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. You have shared many concerns but we notice you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to gently remind you of this truth, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and also, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is our privilege to pray to God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We lift up your mum and dad together before the Lord regarding their eye issues. We pray for healing and for wisdom for their doctors. We remember that He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3 and that He is the Lord who heals us. We also bring your mum before the Lord for her medical appointment, asking that she will have clarity about the date and time and that she will be able to attend without confusion. We pray for her mental health, for her arm issues, and for her upcoming foot surgery in late October, that the Lord would prepare her body, calm her mind, and guide the surgeons hands. We pray He will heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3.
We also pray for you and for your bladder concerns, asking God to bring healing, comfort, and rest, and to ease the anxiety that comes with frequent needs. We are told, Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 and, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We ask for that peace to guard you and your mum.
We hear your concern about your mum being decent tomorrow and about the anger that arose around the situation at the Salvation Army. We do not know all the details, but we know that family tension can weigh heavily on a home. Scripture tells us, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32. We pray that whatever disappointment your mum felt about not getting what she wanted, the Lord would comfort her and provide what she truly needs, and that between your mum and dad there would be grace, patience, and forgiveness rather than strife. We pray she will find something similar that blesses her, but even more we pray for peace in your household.
We bring your practical needs before the Lord as well, the medical scooter that you rely on and the desire for a new wheelchair, and the money you are owed. We pray that God will provide for your daily needs and sustain what you have, for your Father knows that you need all these things. Matthew 6:32 and, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. We ask Him to keep your scooter in working order until a new wheelchair can be provided, and to move on the hearts of those who owe you to do what is right.
We also hear your worries about the world, rumors of the United States attacking Canada and other countries, and the spread of plague in Russia and Ebola elsewhere. These are heavy things to carry, and many rumors cause fear. We encourage you not to be consumed by rumors but to trust in Gods sovereignty over the nations. We are instructed, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We pray for world leaders, that God would restrain violence and give wisdom, that He would protect Canada and all nations from war, and that He would in His mercy restrain disease and bring healing where sickness is spreading.
You mentioned Pope Leo and his health. We do pray for him as we would for any person made in Gods image, asking God to bring him healing and strength according to His will, but we remind you that we do not pray to any man, pope, or saint, but only to God through Jesus Christ who is our one mediator. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus. We lift up this dear family, the mum and dad with eye trouble, the mum with mental health struggles, arm pain, and upcoming foot surgery, and this child who worries for them and for their own health. Touch their bodies, bring healing, grant clear minds and calm hearts, and let that appointment go smoothly. Grant peace in their home, replacing anger with kindness and forgiveness. Provide for the scooter and wheelchair and for the finances that are owed. Lord, we place the nations in Your hands, quiet rumors of war, protect Canada and all peoples, and restrain the spread of plague and Ebola. Bring Your comfort and Your healing to Pope Leo and to all who are ill. Help our friend to cast every care on You and to know the peace that comes through trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, Amen.
