Beloved of All
My mum ### is angry a lot, lately, and calling people names. Hope to get something on Friday. Hope it doesn’t snow or rain on Saturday and Sunday. We are out of town, now, hope to be travelling back on Sunday, as not enough time on Saturday. We didn’t get anything done related to the house, my family’s in; my mum wants to clean up basement and maybe bottles. Hope me or my parents get money from bottles. But we can only do so much; especially my dad, ### who’s not well. Hope he is well enough on Friday and Sunday to do what’s needed. My mum going to a doctor to try to get pain killers (as she is getting foot surgery soon, by a foot surgeon) with a doctor whose hearing is going; I hope that doctor makes no mistakes. Hope the surgery goes well, and the surgeon is decent, told he is a jerk, hope that’s not accurate. Hope it doesn’t snow until mid-December. Hope get money from bottles. Hope two other appointments; which are on Friday, happen far enough from each other, my mum has.

We have heard your burden for your family and we bring it before the Lord together in Jesus name. We understand the weight you are carrying with your mum being angry and calling people names, the pressure of hoping to get things done around the house and with the bottles, your dad not being well, being out of town and needing to travel back on Sunday, the many appointments on Friday, your mum seeking pain relief before foot surgery, concerns about the doctor whose hearing is failing and about the surgeon you have heard negative things about, and your hopes regarding the weather and provision.

We want to gently address what you shared about your mum's anger and name calling because Scripture calls us to put these things away. Ephesians 4:31-32 says Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And James 1:19-20 says So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Proverbs 15:1 also reminds us A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. We encourage you to respond to your mum with honor and gentleness even when she is angry, as Ephesians 6:2 says Honor your father and mother, and to pray for her heart to find peace and self control which is fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. We also rebuke the spirit of anger and harsh speech in your home and pray it will be replaced with kindness and patience.

We see your care for your dad in his poor health and for your mum facing surgery, and your desire to be good stewards of your home and even the small provision from bottles. God cares about every detail. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We are encouraged to trust Him with the timing of your travel and appointments, the weather on Saturday and Sunday and in the weeks ahead, and your finances, for Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. For your going out and coming in we claim Psalm 121:8 which says Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. For healing we claim Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and hope that endures. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to place all these hopes and worries in His hands and to call upon His name, for He hears and saves.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this family to You. Lord we ask You to calm the anger in this home and to help this dear mum to put away bitter words and to be filled with Your peace and kindness. Touch her foot and prepare her for surgery, give wisdom and steady hands to the doctors and keep them from any mistake, and let the surgeon act with skill and compassion. We ask You to strengthen this father who is not well, restore his health and give him strength for what is needed on Friday and Sunday. Guard this family as they travel, keep them safe on the road and give them favor with timing for the appointments on Friday that they would be spaced well and not rushed. Provide for their needs through the work of their hands, even through the bottles and the cleaning of the basement, and help them to do only what they can with grace and not with anxiety. Lord rule over the weather according to Your perfect will and give them peace whatever You send. Let Your peace guard their hearts and let their home be filled with gentle answers and forgiveness. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. I ask this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We hear how full this week feels for you, with so many small worries stacking up at once, your mum's anger and name calling, your dad not feeling well, travel and weather, the house and basement, bottles and money, appointments on Friday and a foot surgery coming up.

When a family has that many demands at the same time, it is understandable to feel stretched thin and on edge. It makes sense you are watching the forecast, the clock on Friday, and your dad's strength for what needs to be done. You are trying to be realistic about what can actually get done with the time and energy you all have.

One thing that sometimes helps when everything feels piled together is to make the next day a little more concrete together. Maybe you and your parents can write down Friday's two appointment times with a little buffer in between, check the travel forecast once together, and agree ahead of time on one small, doable part of the basement or bottles to aim for, leaving the rest for later so your dad is not pushed past what he can do. If you have concerns about your mum's doctor visit or the upcoming surgery, it is also good to ask the clinic staff to repeat or write down instructions so nothing is missed.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus' name. Give them steadiness on Friday and safety traveling Sunday, wisdom for the doctors and surgeon, and healing and rest for their bodies. Bring more peace into their home and help them speak to each other with patience. Provide for what they need and guide their steps day by day. Amen.

Your many cares for your family have been brought before the Lord, and we have sought His mercy on your behalf.

There is healing in Christ, not only for the body but for the soul. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and where He comes pardon and healing go together. He heals the broken heart and binds up its wounds, and He does so with tender parental discipline, not with thunder or threatening, but by bowing Himself over the wounded heart and speaking peace.

We have prayed that the Lord would work this healing in your home. For your mother who is angry and given to harsh words, we have asked that the Lord would give her a new heart and a right spirit, that His grace would cool the fever of anger and make her gentle and loving, and that you all may know that sobering work of Divine Grace which is blessed for the whole family. For your father who is not well, we have asked the Great Physician to lay His hand upon him, to strengthen him for what is needed on Friday and Sunday, and to restore him according to His wise and loving will.

For your mother's foot surgery we have prayed that the Lord would guide the hands of the surgeon and the doctor she now sees, that no mistake would be made, and that though human skill and even surgery have limits, the Lord who is able to heal would be present in that operating room. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and we trust Him who is able to heal both body and soul.

We have also asked the Lord for your practical needs, for provision from the bottles and for help with the house and the basement, for wisdom to do what can be done and grace to leave the rest in His hands. We have prayed for your appointments on Friday that the timing would be ordered well, for your travel on Sunday that the Lord would grant you safety, and for the weather that you have committed to Him. He holds the snow and rain in His hand, and we ask Him to deal kindly with you in these things as seems best to His infinite wisdom.

May you all look to Jesus and find in Him the contact that lifts up and heals. Seek first His pardon, for when sin is forgiven healing comes from the same hand. Cast every burden upon Him, for He cares for you, and trust not in circumstances but in the living Christ who is abundant in healing power.

We will continue to pray that the Lord would bring peace to your household, health to your parents, and that His healing leaves would be applied to every wound among you, making your hearts fresh and whole in Him. Amen.
