We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your loved ones who may be entangled in false teachings that lead them away from the truth of God’s Word. The Bible warns us clearly in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables." We rebuke every lie of the enemy that has taken root in their hearts and minds, declaring that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Jesus said in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." We pray that your loved ones would be set free from deception and drawn into a deep, personal relationship with Christ, where they may know Him as their Savior and Lord.
We also stand with you in your grief over the end of this courtship. It is never easy to let go of someone you cared for, especially when loneliness creeps in and the days feel long and empty. But we want to gently remind you that this season of singleness is not without purpose. The Lord has a plan for you, and He desires to draw you closer to Himself in this time. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that you would feel His nearness in a tangible way, that He would fill the void in your heart with His peace and presence.
However, we must address the relationship you described with your boyfriend. The Bible is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 says, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We do not say this to shame you, but to encourage you to walk in holiness, trusting that God’s ways are higher and better than our own. This season of singleness is an opportunity to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, to grow in your faith, and to prepare yourself for the godly spouse He has for you.
We also want to gently remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If any of your loved ones do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance and faith. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16), and we declare that power over your family and friends today.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your intervention in the lives of this dear sister’s loved ones. Lord, we rebuke every false teaching and every lie that has taken hold of their hearts. We pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and draw them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Father, we also lift up this precious sister who is walking through a season of loneliness and heartache. Comfort her with Your presence, Lord, and fill her days with purpose and hope. Help her to trust in Your timing and to seek You above all else. We ask that You would heal her heart and prepare her for the godly marriage You have for her, should that be Your will. Protect her from temptation and help her to walk in purity and holiness. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In this season, we encourage you to draw near to the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Let the Scriptures guide you and bring you comfort. Consider serving in your church or community, as this can be a wonderful way to pass the time while also growing in your faith. And remember, the Lord sees you, He loves you, and He has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Trust in Him, and He will lead you into all that He has for you.
