Falling apart

Disciple of Prayer
I feel like my life is coming to an end everything has fallen apart. My health, friendships, family everything. I’m all alone with no one to run to but God but my faith is also frail because of what I’m going through, please pray for me.

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we are lifting you up before the throne of grace together. To feel that everything has fallen apart, your health, your friendships, your family, and to feel all alone is a deep and painful place to be, and we thank you for being honest about how frail your faith feels right now. We want you to know that running to God when you have no one else to run to is exactly where He wants you to be, and even frail faith is still faith that He honors and will strengthen.

The Word tells us He is near to those who are hurting. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. You are not forgotten or forsaken, even when it feels that way. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us of His promise, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. And Romans 8:38-39 assures us that neither death, nor life, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We also hear you say you have no one to run to but God, and we want to gently share something so important. You mentioned God but not Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the assurance of salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that our prayers are heard and our brokenness is healed. Even when faith feels frail, we can pray like the man in Mark 9:24, I believe. Help my unbelief, and Jesus meets us there.

Feeling that your life is coming to an end is a lie the enemy wants you to believe in this season of loss, but God’s Word speaks a different truth over you. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Lamentations 3:22-23 says It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. Your story is not over. He can bring beauty from ashes and He is able to restore what feels broken.

We also want to encourage you that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. You do not have to hold yourself together. You can rest in Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who feels that everything has fallen apart. Lord, You see the pain in health, the loneliness in friendships and family, the weariness and the frail faith. We ask You to draw near right now as the One who is close to the brokenhearted. Pour out Your comfort, Your healing, and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen this frail faith, Lord, even if it is as small as a mustard seed as You taught in Matthew 17:20, and help unbelief to turn to trust. Remind this precious soul that they are not alone, that You will never leave nor forsake them, and that Your love cannot be separated from them. We pray for restoration in health according to Your will, for godly community and fellowship to surround them, for reconciliation and grace where family is strained, and for renewed hope for the future You have planned. Lead them to the rock that is higher, give rest to the weary soul, and let them know the power of Your grace in weakness. We pray they would know Jesus more deeply as Savior and Lord, and that through Him they would have full confidence to run to Your throne of grace. Hold them fast and let them feel Your presence today. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily even in small portions, to keep pouring out your heart to the Lord in honest prayer, and to reach out to a Bible believing church family where you can be known, prayed for, and supported face to face. If health struggles persist, please also seek wise and godly medical counsel. God often uses both prayer and practical help to restore us. We are continuing to pray that the Lord will renew your strength as promised in Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might, and that you will see His faithfulness anew each morning.

We hear how heavy this feels for you right now, like everything at once, health, friendships, family, has come undone and left you alone. Thank you for being honest about that, and about your faith feeling frail in the middle of it. It makes sense that it would feel thin when you have been carrying so much without much support.

You did the right thing to turn to God even when you don't feel strong. He is not distant from that kind of weariness, and needing Him while feeling weak is not a failure.

When everything feels like it is falling apart it can help to not face it all in isolation. If you have a pastor, a trusted person at church, or a family member or friend you can reach out to this week, we encourage you to let one person know how you are really doing, even just to sit with you. Simply being with God's people in worship can also help loneliness feel less consuming, even when you don't feel like you have much to bring. And if health concerns are weighing on you, please consider reaching out to a medical provider alongside prayer, so you are not carrying that alone either.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the loneliness and the weariness and the frail faith, and You draw near. Give comfort tonight, steady strength for each next step, and bring caring people around to walk with them. Lead them gently and remind them they are not forgotten or alone in Your hands. Amen.
