We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for God’s unchanging faithfulness, as Lamentations 3:23 reminds us, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Your mercies are indeed our daily sustenance, and we humbly ask that You continue to renew our minds and spirits as we seek to walk in Your will. Father, we recognize that our devotion, study, and care for those You’ve placed in our charge require the constant inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, as 1 Timothy 4:16 exhorts us to watch our lives and doctrine closely.
We lift up the matter of former relationships, praying earnestly for their salvation and spiritual enrichment, as Romans 10:1 urges, "Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." Yet, Lord, we also ask for the grace to shift our focus toward the new things You are doing, as Isaiah 42:9 declares, "Behold, the former things have happened, and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up." Help us to transition with wisdom and discernment, guarding ourselves and those under our care, as Acts 20:28-31 warns us to be vigilant against deceit and distraction.
Father, we cry out for inner healing, that You would restore our souls as the Good Shepherd in Psalm 23:4 and create in us clean hearts, as David prayed in Psalm 51:10. Renew the joy of our salvation (Psalm 51:12) so that we may lead others to You, for "then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners shall be converted to you" (Psalm 51:13). Open doors for evangelism, fellowship, and counseling, as You promised in Revelation 3:7-8, and let us walk through them with boldness and humility.
We thank You for the provision You’ve already given, quiet lodging, proximity to our aging parents, and the opportunity to honor them as Scripture commands (1 Timothy 5:4, Romans 13:7, Ephesians 6:2-3). Strengthen us to serve them practically and spiritually, reflecting Your love in our homes. Lord, we surrender ourselves as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1-2), asking that You would make our offerings acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:16). Empower us to run the race set before us (1 Corinthians 9:24), forgetting what lies behind and pressing toward the upward call in Christ (Philippians 3:13-14).
Guard us from temptation (Luke 11:4), sin (Zephaniah 3:13), and the schemes of the evil one (John 17:15). Above all, we pray for a primary focus on the new work You are doing, as Isaiah 43:19 proclaims, "Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Let us not cling to the past but embrace the future You have prepared, trusting in Your perfect timing and purpose.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12) and through whom we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). May Your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven. Amen.
