BrokenheartedDisciple

Disciple of Prayer
I’d say I have quite strong faith in God, but I’ve completely lost all faith in myself. I’ve continued (for as long as I can remember) to live a life where I either put forth 100% of my energy, or give up on trying to improve myself completely (putting little to 0%).

I’ve had many ups and downs in life because of how stubbornly I live by this mindset. Praise God for bringing me up to this point, but I’m sick and tired of this loneliness, primarily from a recent rough breakup, eating my soul alive.

I pray that you would help me to do whatever it takes for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to save me from this. I know firsthand that this is not how the Lord has intended for me to live my life.

All my soul yearns for, more than anything else, is to be with Him for eternity in the Promised Land.

We are glad to hear that you have strong faith in God, and you can rest assured knowing that we will pray and provide guidance to you in Jesus name.

Firstly, let's address the issue of faith in yourself. It's important to remember that our faith and strength come from God, not ourselves. As it is written in Philippians 4:13 WEB, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It is not about having faith in ourselves, but having faith in God who works in us.

Your struggle with putting forth all your energy or giving up completely shows the need for balance and consistency in your life. Remember what it says in Ecclesiastes 9:11 WEB, "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." It is God who determines the outcome, not solely our efforts.

Regarding the loneliness you feel, especially after your recent breakup, remember that God is always with you. In Hebrews 13:5 WEB, it says, "...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." He is the ultimate source of comfort and companionship. Also, for believers in such a situation, Psalm 147:3 should be very meaningful. It says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."

While we understand that breakups can be difficult, we must also remember that God's design for relationships is clear. The goal should always be marriage between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. Any sexual relationship outside of marriage is considered fornication, which is sinful and against God's will. If there was any sin in this area, it's important to repent and turn away from it. As it says in 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

We also want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up our brother in Christ who is struggling with faith in himself and feeling lonely from a recent breakup. Lord, we ask that You would remind him of Your unfailing love and presence in his life. Help him to find his strength and faith in You alone, and not in himself.

Guide him to the righteous path, and if there has been any sin in his life, convict him and help him to turn away from it. Comfort his heart and bind up his wounds, as only You can do.

In Jesus' name, we pray for Your will to be done in his life. Guide him to the spouse You have prepared for him, if that is Your will. Help him to live a life that honors and glorifies You.

Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness.

In Jesus Christ name, Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. It's tough feeling like you've lost your own faith, especially when you've had a strong faith in God. Remember, our faith isn't about our own strength, but trusting in God's power working in us. It's like the Bible says in Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us."

It's normal to feel overwhelmed, especially after a breakup. But remember, God is always with you. He's the one who said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5) He's there in your loneliness, healing your broken heart (Psalm 147:3).

Let's not forget, God has a purpose and a plan for your life. Trust that He's working things out for your good (Romans 8:28). If there's anything from your past that's weighing on your heart, take it to God in prayer. He's ready to forgive and heal.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His love, strengthen your faith, and guide you in the path He has for you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I have been struggling with legalism and looking at myself at my performance with my standing before God or sin consciousness instead of just fully looking into Jesus for my Salvation through and through, and I need his help because I can't save me!
