Prayer Partner
I have been requesting prayer on here for my ### for the last 10 months. A judge had forced him to be in treatment for mental and addiction issues for the past 9 months, then 10 days after the judge removed the forced order, even though he wasn't ready, he left the facility and spent a week living in his car. The praise report is he lived in his car for a week, hated it and agreed to go to a different facility. He has been in that facility for 3 weeks now. Today he has his 1st appt with the new psychiatrist. My ### is wanting to get off all medication and he does not want me to speak to the dr but I already did. Please pray that Jesus will give the Dr wisdom and discernment to know what is best for my ###, that my ### will trust the Dr's choices and that the Dr will follow the notes in his file and NOT say a word to my ### about talking to me. If my ### hears that, it will ruin everything. Also please pray this facility will finally be the one that gets him the help he needs. He promised he would stay there for 1 yr. Please just pray...

We lift up this situation before the Lord, knowing that He alone is the Great Physician and the One who brings true healing and restoration. It is clear that you have been faithfully interceding for this man, and we join you in crying out to God for His mercy, wisdom, and intervention in this critical time. You have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your request, yet it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and can approach His throne with confidence. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is in the name of Jesus that we pray, trusting in His power to transform hearts and minds.

We also recognize the deep love and concern you have for this man, and we encourage you to continue seeking God’s will in this matter. However, we must address something important: your reference to this man as "###" without clarifying your relationship with him. If this is someone you are not married to, we urge you to examine whether this relationship aligns with biblical principles. Scripture warns us against emotional attachments that are not grounded in the covenant of marriage, as these can lead to idolatry or unhealthy dependencies. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If this man is not your husband, we pray that God would give you wisdom about the boundaries in this relationship and that you would seek His will above all else. If he is your husband, we pray for the restoration of your marriage according to God’s design.

Now, regarding the specific requests you’ve shared, we pray earnestly for the psychiatrist who is meeting with this man today. We ask that God would fill this doctor with divine wisdom and discernment, that every decision made would be for this man’s ultimate good and healing. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). Lord, we ask that You would guide this doctor’s words and actions, that he would see clearly what medications—or lack thereof—would be most beneficial. We pray that this man would have a teachable and humble spirit, willing to trust the doctor’s expertise rather than resisting out of pride or fear. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).

We also pray for protection over the communication between you and the doctor. You have expressed concern that if this man finds out you spoke to the doctor, it could harm his progress. We ask God to shield this interaction, that the doctor would honor the confidentiality of your conversation and act with professionalism and discretion. At the same time, we encourage you to trust in God’s sovereignty. Even if this man were to discover what you’ve done, God can use it for good. *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). Lord, we ask that You would prepare this man’s heart to receive the help he needs, regardless of the circumstances.

Most importantly, we pray for this man’s spiritual condition. No amount of medication or therapy can bring true peace apart from a relationship with Jesus Christ. If he does not know the Lord, we pray that God would draw him to repentance and faith. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). If he is a believer, we pray that God would renew his mind and strengthen his faith, that he would surrender his struggles to Christ and find his identity in Him alone. *"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2, WEB).

Finally, we pray that this facility would indeed be the place where this man receives the help he so desperately needs. We ask that God would surround him with wise counselors, supportive staff, and a community that points him to Christ. We pray that he would remain committed to staying for the full year, as he promised, and that God would give him the perseverance to see this season through. *"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up"* (Galatians 6:9, WEB).

Heavenly Father, we commit this entire situation into Your hands. You see the depths of this man’s struggles, and You know the desires of his heart. We ask that You would work mightily in his life, breaking the chains of addiction and mental distress, and setting him free to walk in the purpose You have for him. Give wisdom to those who are caring for him, and grant peace and strength to those who are interceding for him. May Your will be done in his life, and may You receive all the glory. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your loved one before the Lord in prayer over these past several days. It has been our privilege to stand with you in agreement, especially knowing the long and difficult road you’ve walked these last ten months—through court orders, treatment struggles, and the heartache of watching him leave too soon. We rejoice that God answered prayer by bringing him back to a place of help, and we praise Him for the three weeks of stability he’s had so far. What a testimony of God’s faithfulness, even in the small victories like the week in his car that led him to seek help again!

Today, as he meets with the new psychiatrist, we are praying fervently that Jesus will fill that doctor with divine wisdom and discernment—guiding every decision for your loved one’s true healing, both spiritually and physically. We ask the Lord to soften his heart to trust the doctor’s care, even when it’s hard, and to protect the relationship between them so the focus remains on restoration. We’re also praying for supernatural discretion, that the doctor would honor the notes in his file and that your conversation would remain confidential, sparing any unnecessary strain. Most of all, we’re claiming this facility as the one where breakthrough finally comes—the place where chains are broken, hope is restored, and your loved one encounters the transformative love of Christ in a way he’s never known before.

We know the road ahead is still uncertain, but we’re clinging to the promise that God is not finished writing this story. If today’s appointment brings good news or signs of progress, we’d love for you to share a praise report so we can give glory to God together. If the battle feels heavier or the answers aren’t what you’d hoped, don’t hesitate to post again—we’re here to keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing you both to the One who holds every detail in His hands.

May the Lord surround you with His peace as you wait, and may your loved one feel the nearness of Jesus in ways he cannot ignore. We’re trusting that this year of commitment will be a year of miracles—where medication, therapy, and the power of the Holy Spirit work together to bring lasting freedom. You’re not alone in this. We’re standing with you, and more importantly, so is our Savior.

In Jesus’ name.
