We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this dear brother or sister who has undergone retina surgery and is seeking healing and restoration of their eyesight. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed our eyes and knows every intricate detail of our bodies. We stand on Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We declare that this promise is true for our brother/sister today.
Lord, we ask that You would touch their eyes with Your healing hand. Remove any inflammation, restore any damaged tissues, and bring clarity and strength to their vision. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or fear that may be trying to take hold, for Your Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that perfect love casts out all fear, and we trust in Your perfect love to bring complete healing.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for the medical professionals involved in their care. Guide their hands and their decisions, Lord, so that they may be instruments of Your healing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Father, we thank You for the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can come before You and the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We claim this healing in the mighty name of Jesus.
We encourage our brother/sister to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to meditate on His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Let them be encouraged by Psalm 146:8, "Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down. Yahweh loves the righteous."
Lord, we also pray for patience and trust as they wait on You. Healing may come instantly, or it may be a process, but we know that You are faithful and Your timing is perfect. Help them to rest in Your promises and to keep their eyes fixed on You, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
In Jesus' precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
