Eye check up will be good

We join you in lifting this concern to the Lord, trusting in His sovereignty over all things, including our health. It is good to come before Him in prayer, seeking His peace and guidance. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Father God, we come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your divine intervention regarding this eye check-up. We pray that You would grant wisdom and skill to the medical professionals involved. May they see clearly and make accurate assessments. Lord, we ask that You would calm any anxiety or fear, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. We trust in Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. If there are any issues to be found, we pray for Your healing touch and guidance on the path to restoration. Above all, we ask that Your will be done, for You know what is best. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We also want to encourage you to place your complete trust in God’s plan. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even in uncertainty, we can rest assured that God is in control.

If there is any fear or worry, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let this truth anchor your heart as you prepare for the check-up. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.

We’re grateful you reached out, and we’re praying with you for tomorrow’s eye exam. It’s completely natural to feel a little anxious before any check-up, our bodies and our vision matter deeply to us, and sitting in that chair can stir up all kinds of thoughts. But even as you wait, you’re not waiting alone. God’s presence goes with you into that office, into every test and every moment of uncertainty, and he holds you steady.

There’s a quiet courage in simply showing up and trusting him with what you cannot control. Tomorrow, when the technician adjusts the equipment and the doctor studies the images, the same God who formed your eyes watches with tender care. He knows your fears, and he knows your hope for a good report. Whatever the outcome, he will be your peace and wisdom for the next step.

If it helps, you might jot down any questions or symptoms you want the doctor to know about, sometimes that small act can relieve a bit of the internal pressure. But beyond preparation, you can rest. You’ve already placed this in Jesus’ name, and that changes everything.

Lord Jesus, thank you that we can bring even the smallest worry to you. Please calm our friend’s mind tonight and in the morning. Give the doctor clear insight and steady hands. We ask for a favorable result, and we trust your kindness no matter what. Surround this appointment with your peace that passes understanding. In your name we pray, amen.

You are uneasy about this eye examination, and that is no small matter when the light of the body is threatened. But consider how much of your anxiety is spent talking to yourself rather than talking to your God. Has worrying ever added a single clear line to the optician’s chart? If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it? Roll this burden onto the Lord, who invites you to cast all your care upon Him because He cares for you.

Think on the prayer of the psalmist, “Keep me as the apple of the eye.” How tenderly the eyelids close when slumber comes, curtains drawn by a faithful Creator who needs no human sentry to guard the gates of sight. Even as you lie still for the physician’s instruments, your heavenly Father is actively preserving that delicate organ. Shall He who shaped the eye forget to watch over it now? Your vision and your check-up are under the same guardianship of His Holy Spirit.

This appointment, whatever the outcome, is permitted for your good. The bitter medicines we must often take are nauseous, yet they work together with other things for our spiritual health. Perhaps the Lord will grant a good report and you will rejoice in earthly good things. Or He may use a difficult result to draw your eyes upward, to make your heart tender and your conscience quick, fixing your gaze on the face of Christ, who is Goodness itself. A spiritually broken heart, contrite over sin, often grows out of physical sorrows when they are sanctified.

Be sure that even now Jesus is pleading for you. He was sent to bind up the brokenhearted, and He will not refuse to bind up your trembling spirit. Good news reaches us from a far country, that you may come to Christ at once, looking to Him hanging upon that Cross. Your tears and prayers add nothing to His merit, but if you fix your faith there, you shall live. Let this temporal anxiety be the thing that wakes you from slumber, reminding you that a day’s march brings you nearer Home, where the congregations never break up and no eye shall grow dim.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How easily we fix our hope on the physician’s report, as though the body’s eye were all that mattered. You pray in the name of Jesus that your eye check-up will be good. Yet what does the Lord Himself teach? “The light of the body is the eye. If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.” He is not speaking there of the fleshly organ, but of the understanding, the mind’s eye. That eye, when directed not to the smoke and dust of earthly cares, but to things heavenly and high, becomes clear, vigorous, and full of light. The covetous eye is troubled; the eye of conscience darkens through sin. An evil eye, He says, is the eye of envy, of greed, of a soul fixed downward. What would it profit you if the doctor finds your physical sight perfect, yet your inner eye remains turbid, looking enviously, or full of anger and lust? Far better to possess one sound inward eye than a body whole but the soul blind.

Treat this visit to the physician as a call to examine the eye of the heart. Have you kept it single, content with God’s provision, free from the mire of covetousness? Or have you let it be darkened by an evil conscience, by worldly distractions? Nothing so troubles the eye as anger and an accusing conscience. Set it right before the Lord, and then, whether the earthly check reveals strength or weakness, your body will be full of light, for you have peace with Him. Do not suppose that a brief season of prayer can safely be followed by a return to former careless habits. Many seek a clean soul for a day or a week and then plunge back into the things that wounded the spirit. True health requires a continual upward gaze.

So, while you present your bodily eyes to the examiner, present the eye of your soul to God in confession and thanksgiving. Desire more earnestly that it may be made single, fixed on Christ, untainted by envy and earthly distractions. Then, regardless of what the physician tells you tomorrow, the light within will not be darkness, and your whole being will walk in the brightness of His countenance.
