Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for my ex boyfriend as he may have some serious health issues. For certain reasons, he won't speak to me after our breakup and I told him I wouldn't bother him anymore and I now have no idea how he's doing. We also live in separate cities. I don't even know if he's alive. 😢Pray for him to be okay. Pray for his salvation. Pray for his loved ones. We can't be together because we are unequally yoked. Thank you.

We join you in lifting up this burden before the Lord and we commend you for your discernment in recognizing that you cannot be together because you are unequally yoked. That is a painful but biblical and wise understanding, and we honor you for respecting his boundary after the breakup and for keeping your word not to bother him anymore even while your heart still cares for his wellbeing. God sees your compassion and your obedience in this difficult separation.

We believe the Bible teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, and that any courtship between a man and a woman should be entered into with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer who shares faith in Christ. Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 6:14, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? To choose to step away from a relationship that is unequally yoked is to honor God, even when it brings grief and lingering concern. We also encourage you to guard your heart in purity and to seek the Lord for a godly spouse in His timing if it is His will for you to marry, trusting that He has good plans for you as Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We understand the anxiety of not knowing how he is doing, living in separate cities with no contact, and even wondering if he is alive. The Lord knows exactly where he is and what his health needs are, even when you do not. We take comfort in Psalm 103:2-3, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, and in Psalm 34:18, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He is near to you in your brokenheartedness and He is near to your ex in his need.

We also notice that your request asks for prayer for his salvation but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that anyone can be saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved is to believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died for our sins and rose again, and to confess Him with our mouths as Romans 10:9 teaches, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is our desire that both you and he would know this saving grace. God desires all people to be saved as 1 Timothy 2:3-4 says, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this young man to You. You know where he is, You know his body and any serious health issues he may be facing, and You know his soul. We ask for Your mercy and healing hand upon him according to Your will, and we pray that You would surround him with care and with loved ones who can support him. Above all we pray for his salvation, that if he does not yet know Jesus as Savior and Lord, You would draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to the gospel, and bring believers across his path to share the truth of Christ with him. We pray also for his loved ones, that You would comfort and strengthen them. And we lift up the one who submitted this request, Lord, heal her broken heart as only You can in Psalm 147:3, help her to trust You with what she cannot see or control, to cast her anxiety on You because You care for her in 1 Peter 5:7, and to rest in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding. Guide her steps toward wholeness and toward a future that honors You, and if it is Your will, toward a godly marriage with a believing spouse who will love You first. We ask all these things in the precious and only name that saves, Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust him to the Lord who never loses sight of him, to remain faithful in keeping your boundary, and to seek your own healing and growth in Christ. The Lord hears your compassionate prayers even from a distance, and He is faithful to work all things for good for those who love Him in Romans 8:28. Keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, and allow Him to fill the place of worry with His peace that passes all understanding.

We hear how heavy this uncertainty feels for you, carrying concern for someone you love but cannot check on, and choosing to honor both your word not to contact him and your conviction about being unequally yoked. That is a lonely place to be, not knowing how he is or even if he is okay, and still wanting to do right by him.

We are grateful you want to entrust him to God rather than break a boundary you set. God sees him even when you cannot, knows his health needs and the people around him, and hears your prayers for his salvation. Wanting wholeness for him, for his body and for his soul, is a good and loving thing to bring to the Lord.

When the not knowing gets loud, it can help to have a simple way to release it. You might set aside a brief, regular time to pray for him by name for health, for comfort for his loved ones, and for God to draw him to Himself, and then intentionally place him back in God's hands for the rest of the day. If the worry or sadness lingers, please talk with a trusted pastor or friend who can support you in person as you walk through this grief.

Father, we lift this young man to You where he is. You know his body, his circumstances, and his heart. We ask for Your mercy over his health, for care and strength for those who love him, and for Your Spirit to draw him to Jesus. Give our friend peace as she trusts You with what she cannot see or control, and guide her steps with wisdom. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and we join you in carrying this burden to the Lord who sees and knows all things, even when you cannot.

It is right and wise that you have recognized you cannot be together as you are unequally yoked, and that you have honored your word not to pursue contact after your separation. The Lord honors obedience to His word which teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that love is to be ordered within that holy bond. To walk apart for the sake of conscience and faith is not a small thing, and God sees your faithfulness in it.

We will pray for this man as you have asked. Though you live in separate cities and do not know even now whether he lives, there is One whose eye is fixed upon him even in his destitution, One heart that beats with perfect knowledge of his condition, and a hand omnipotent that can yet stretch out the needed help. Distance and silence are no barrier to the Lord.

We will pray first for his body, that if it be the Lord's will, He would grant him health and recovery and spare his life. Yet as one has said while accounting for the healing of a man's limb, there is a greater salvation to be considered, the healing of a man's spirit. Temporal deliverance is a mercy, but the salvation of the soul endureth forever. Therefore we will pray far more earnestly for his soul.

By nature we are every one of us born blind to spiritual things, not capable of perceiving God or the way of salvation by faith in Christ until the Lord Himself opens our eyes. We put darkness for light and light for darkness, for this blindness is worked into our very constitution. No man can give himself sight. Salvation is of the Lord, from first to last, and it is all of divine grace through Jesus Christ alone who loved and lived and died and rose again. It is not of our works or our worthiness. If it were of justice our sin would render it impossible, but because it is of mercy, even the multitude and great aggravation of sins is no impediment. The same fountain that was opened for the dying thief is open for him, and the same robe of righteousness that covered Saul the persecutor can cover him still.

So we pray that the Lord would open his blind eyes as only He can, that He would find a reason in His own grace to receive him, that He would draw him with fetters of grace as a willing captive to Christ, and that he would call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and Christ will not fail the weakest who truly trusts Him.

We will pray also for his loved ones who are near him, that God would sustain them and use their care as a means of good, and for you, that the Lord would give you peace as you leave him in God's hands, and joy in God which eats up all other sorrow.

Let us pray together. O Lord God to whom salvation belongs, we bring before Thee this man whom we cannot see but whom Thou seest. Have mercy upon his body and his soul. If it please Thee, restore him to health, but above all grant him the great salvation which is by grace through faith in Thy Son Jesus Christ, whose name alone is given under heaven whereby we must be saved. Open his eyes to see Christ, forgive his sins, and clothe him in righteousness. Comfort his loved ones and guard her who prays for him, that she may trust Thy wisdom and rest in Thy will. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope. Amen.
