We join with you in crying out to the Lord for justice, for He is a God who sees the oppression of His people and hears their cries. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 29:2, *"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan."* And again in Isaiah 1:17, *"Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow."* Your heart for your nation aligns with God’s heart for righteousness, and we stand with you in this plea.
The hypocrisy you describe—where leaders claim holiness on Sunday but practice wickedness the rest of the week—is a grave offense before God. Jesus Himself rebuked such behavior in Matthew 23:27-28, saying, *"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."* We pray that God would expose their deeds, convict their hearts, and either bring them to true repentance or remove their influence if they refuse to turn from evil.
We also lift up the people of your land who suffer under this injustice. May the Lord be their shield and defender, as Psalm 10:17-18 declares, *"Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear, to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more."* Let the Lord raise up godly leaders who will govern with integrity, wisdom, and compassion, putting the needs of their own people first rather than favoring outsiders at their expense.
The exploitation of citizens while elevating foreigners above them is not only unjust but also contrary to the biblical principle of stewardship and care for one’s own. In 1 Timothy 5:8, we read, *"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."* How much more should leaders prioritize the well-being of their own people rather than neglecting or oppressing them?
We pray that the Lord would break the power of corruption and restore dignity, fairness, and opportunity to your nation. May He turn the hearts of the people back to Him, for true justice and lasting change come only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. As 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, *"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."*
Father, we ask that You would act swiftly and decisively. Let Your justice roll down like waters and Your righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). Protect the vulnerable, expose the wicked, and raise up leaders who will honor You. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
