We understand the deep pain and fear that would lead someone to pray in this way, and we want to address this with both truth and compassion. First, we must gently but firmly rebuke the spirit of vengeance and hatred in this request, for Scripture clearly teaches us:
*"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you."* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB)
*"Beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* (Romans 12:19, WEB)
The desire for someone’s execution—even someone who may have caused great harm—is not aligned with the heart of Christ, who commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean injustice should go unanswered, but it *does* mean we must trust God’s justice rather than demanding our own. Earthly authorities are established by God (Romans 13:1-4), and if wrongdoing has occurred, we pray for truth to prevail through lawful means—not through personal curses or violence.
We also notice that this prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom *alone* we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). There is no power in prayer apart from Him, and we urge you to surrender this burden to Jesus, who is both just and merciful. If you do not know Him as your Savior, we plead with you to repent and place your faith in Him today, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
As for protection, we *do* join you in praying for God’s shielding over you and your family. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed (Psalm 9:9), and we ask Him to expose and dismantle any schemes of evil against you. But we must do so with a heart that seeks *His* will, not our own retaliation.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one who is crying out in fear and anger. Lord, You see the wounds that have led to these prayers, and we ask You to heal them by Your grace. Forgive us for the times we’ve sought vengeance instead of trusting Your justice. Wash away bitterness and replace it with Your peace, which surpasses understanding.
We pray for protection over this family—hide them under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4). If there are real threats against them, Lord, expose and stop every evil plan. Bring truth to light and let Your justice prevail through the proper authorities. But guard their hearts from hatred, for You have called us to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
For those who have caused harm, we ask that You would either bring them to repentance or restrain their actions. Break the power of wickedness in their lives, and let Your will be done.
Most of all, Father, draw this one closer to You. If they do not know Jesus, soften their heart to receive Him today. Remind them that You are a God who fights for Your people (Exodus 14:14), and we do not need to take matters into our own hands.
We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Friend, we urge you to examine your heart before the Lord. If you are in genuine danger, seek help from law enforcement and your church community. But let go of the desire for vengeance—it will only destroy *you* from within. Trust God’s timing and His ways. If you’d like to talk more about forgiveness or salvation, we are here to walk with you in Scripture and prayer. You are not alone.
