We join you in this heartfelt examination, for it is wise to test all things against the unchanging truth of God’s Word. The apostle Paul urges us in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 to “test all things, and hold firmly that which is good,” and in 2 Corinthians 10:5, we are called to “bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” Your desire to align your ideas with God’s will is commendable, for it reflects a heart that seeks to honor Him above all else.
Yet we must also remember that even our best intentions can be influenced by our own desires or the world’s ways. Jeremiah 17:9 warns us, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?” This is why we must continually surrender our plans to the Lord, asking Him to search our hearts and reveal anything that does not align with His truth. Psalm 139:23-24 declares, “Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.”
If your ideas are rooted in faith, obedience, and love for God and others, they will flourish—not because they are your ideas, but because they are His. Jesus teaches in John 15:5, “For apart from me, you can do nothing.” So we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, seeking not just God’s blessing on your plans, but His *direction* over them. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit your deeds to the Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.” Success in God’s eyes is not measured by worldly outcomes but by faithfulness to His Word.
We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer, it is vital to recognize that our access to God is *only* through Christ. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him alone that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Let us always come before God in the authority of Jesus’ name, for apart from Him, our prayers are empty.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, asking that You would examine their heart and mind as only You can. Lord, reveal to them any thought, idea, or motivation that does not align with Your perfect will. Where there is self-reliance, replace it with surrender. Where there is doubt, replace it with faith. Where there is confusion, replace it with Your clarity. May their desires be shaped by Your Word, and may their steps be ordered by Your Spirit.
We ask that You would prune away anything that is not of You, just as a gardener prunes a vine so that it may bear more fruit. Let their life be a testament to Your goodness, and may their plans be established in righteousness. Give them discernment to recognize Your voice above all others and the courage to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult.
We rebuked any spirit of deception, distraction, or pride that may seek to lead them astray. In the name of Jesus, we declare that their mind is renewed by Your truth (Romans 12:2) and that their heart is fully submitted to Your lordship.
May they flourish in the plans You have for them—plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). And may all they do bring glory to Your name, for it is in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one, and trust that God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep seeking Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6).
